MUMBAI, 6th JANUARY, 2023 (GPN): Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
asserted that the work of journalists
is not only limited to reporting news
but also plays an important role in
the sustainable development of the
state.

Today on the occasion of Journalist’s Day in Mumbai at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Auditorium at the Fourth Pillar State Level Journalism Awards program organized by the wonderful Media News Network, Chief Minister Shri. Shinde was speaking.

On this occasion Bahujan Welfare Department Additional Chief Secretary Nand Kumar, Chief Minister’s Office Infrastructure Unit Director General Radheshyam Mopalwar, Vitthal Cooperative Sugar Factory President Abhijit Patil, Mantralaya Legislature Journalist Association President Mandar Parkar, film actor and director Mangesh Desai, Convener Vivek Deshpande, Ranjit Kakkad and many others were present. Director of Media Dr. Anil Fajhi and others were also present on the platform.

Chief Minister Mr. Shinde said that journalists should take note of the changing technology. The state government also implements some important schemes like medical aid scheme, accreditation scheme, post
retirement honors for journalists.
There are some suggestions for making some improvements in these plans.

On this occasion Chief Minister Shri. Shinde said, The work of journalists is not only to write news, but their contribution is also important for the sustainable development of the state. The media has seen the work of the state government in the last six months. We are trying to do people oriented work. On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsavi year, the state government took various decisions in the Nagpur session for free ST travel for the 75 year old seniors in the state, separate disability welfare department for the neglected disabled in the society, Samriddhi Highway, Vidarbha . The media worked to bring it to everyone, he said.”

Chief Minister Shri Shinde said that journalists should take note of this change. He also mentioned that the importance of journalists will not decrease due to these changes.

Chief Minister Mr. Shinde said that
newspapers played a major role
during the freedom struggle . Even
today there is a need for the media
to truly educate the citizens and
readers and play the role of public
education. He expressed the hope
that the media should play an
objective and guiding role by taking
note of the problems of increasing
use of narcotics, Naxalism,
terrorism, employment, changed
family system, market tyranny in
our society. On this occasion Chief
Minister Shri Shinde said that the
role of the state government is to
eradicate Naxalism in Gadchiroli
and its citizens are being included in the development process.

Chief Minister Shri. Shinde’s handbook ‘Apratim Mahavakta (APRATIM MEDIA – CHAUTHASTAMBH AWARDS) was published.

The Shinde group has started preparing vigorously for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has formed a special team of 12 people to support the organization in Mumbai. MPs, MLAs and former corporators have also been included in this team. Three women leaders have also been given a place in it.

Among these 12 people are MP Gajanan Kirtikar, Mumbai Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, MP Rahul Shewale, MLA Sada Saravankar, MLA, Prakash Surve, MLA Yamini Jadhav, MLA Mangesh Kudalkar, MLA Dilip Lande, Former Standing Committee Chairman Yashwant Jadhav, Deputy Leader Sheetal Mhatre, Asha Mamidi.
