1. President Droupadi Murmu has launches Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, said that Jan Bhagidari is the key to eliminate tuberculosis from the country.

2. Indian railways for the first time has floated a tender to invite private players to build high-speed wheel plant under the Make in India initiative. manufacturing is expected to start within next 18 months and once India achieves high standard of manufacturing of wheels, it will eye at exporting wheels mostly to European countries.

3. NITI Aayog approves 32 beneficiaries under The Production-Linked Incentive PLI scheme for large-scale electronics manufacturing. It will also give a boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat while creating more global champions.

4. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, DMRC will provide bus service for those visiting Central Vista or India Gate. The electric buses will pick up the visitors from the four pickup points- Bhairon Road, Raj Ghat, Connaught Place near Palika Parking and the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and will drop off at Gate No.1 of the National Stadium ‘C’ Hexagon.

5 BJP President JP Nadda appointed former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani as in charge of party affairs in Punjab. Former Tripura CM Biplab Deb has been made party incharge in Haryana and former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar made party incharge in Kerala.

6. The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre whether there is a protocol for internet shutdowns. The apex court was hearing a plea which alleged arbitrary internet shutdowns in Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal. The SC bench said instead of issuing notices to the four states, notice should be sent to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

7. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the CUET-UG results by September 15 or if possible, even a couple of days earlier.

8. The 31st Vyas Samman was conferred on to well-known Hindi writer Dr Asghar Wajahat at a function in New Delhi.

9. *GUJARAT* : PM Modi will inaugurate the two-day Centre- State Science Conclave via video conferencing. The conclave is being organised at Science City, Ahmedabad.

10. HDFC Bank has unveiled its state-of-the-art ‘Bank on Wheel’ van in Gujarat. The Bank in Wheel van service will take banking services to unbanked villages.

11. *KARNATAKA* ;: Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways Nitin gadkari assures that Bengaluru will be decongested and a multi-mode transport system will be introduced in the city.

12. *MAHARASHTRA* : Strict action will be taken: CM Shinde on Yakub Memon’s grave beautification
Responding to the controversy over the beautification of 1993 Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon’s grave,

Maharashtra CM said that strict action will be taken against the persons responsible. “Yakub Memon…cannot be glorified. We won’t accept this or let it happen,” Shinde said. “I’ve informed BMC and…police, the Home Ministry will take appropriate action,” he added.

13. *MEGHALAYA*: The Autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly began on Friday at Shillong. The judicial inquiry report into the death of former Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC ) leader Cherishterfield Thangkhiew was laid on the table of the House on the first day.

14. *TELANGANA* : 10-day long Ganesh festivities end in Hyderabad. Devotees are bidding farewell to Lord Ganesha and immerse the idols in about 30 lakes and over 25 more additional tiny artificial ponds in and around Hyderabad. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has installed about 300 cranes of various capacities at these lakes for immersion.

15. The Union Cabinet had approved a policy on long-term leasing of Railways’ land as well as a proposal to develop 300 Gati Shakti cargo terminals over the next five years.

1. India, China troops to complete disengagement at PP15 in Gogra-Hot Springs by Monday.

1. External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia starting 10 Sep. This will be his first visit to the Kingdom as External Affairs Minister of India.

During his three days visit, he will co-chair the inaugural Ministerial Meeting of the Committee on Political, Security, Social and Cultural Cooperation (PSSC) with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

2. Volker Turk of Austria has been appointed as the next United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Turk following approval by the General Assembly.

3. Bangladesh improved its ranking in the Human Development Index (HDI) for the year 2021-22 as per the latest edition of the UNDP report unveiled on Thursday.

It ranked 129th out of 191 countries ranked on the index. Earlier, in its previous report published in 2020, Bangladesh had ranked 133 out of 189 countries.

4. In the South Asian region, Sri Lanka has the highest ranking at 73rd position, Maldives at 90th, Bhutan 127th, India at 132nd, Nepal 143rd, Pakistan 161st and Afghanistan at 180th rank. Globally, Switzerland was at the top followed by Norway and Iceland. South Sudan, Chad and Niger were at the bottom of the scale on HDI.

5. Sweden is set for Parliamentary elections on Sunday, with rising energy costs due to the Russia-Ukraine war and violent crimes at home being the most-discussed topics.
