AEO / Eligible Manufacturer Importer (EMI) Outreach Programme Concludes with Grand Success

The Outreach Programme was Jointly Organised by Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH), Mumbai Customs Zone-II and the All India Importers and Exporters Association (AIIEA)

MUMBAI | NATIONAL, 03 JULY 2026, GPN/ NEWSMAN SACHIN: The AEO / Eligible Manufacturer Importer (EMI) Outreach Programme, jointly organised by Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH), Mumbai Customs Zone-II, in collaboration with the All India Importers and Exporters Association (AIIEA), concluded successfully on Friday, 03 July 2026, at Walchand Hirachand Hall, IMC Building, Mumbai.

The programme witnessed an enthusiastic response from the import-export fraternity and proved to be an informative and engaging platform for promoting awareness of the Eligible Manufacturer Importer (EMI) Scheme and its integration with the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Programme. Participants gained valuable insights into how these initiatives can enhance customs clearance efficiency, improve supply chain facilitation, and optimise working capital management for businesses engaged in international trade.

The event was planned, managed, and funded entirely by AIIEA, reflecting the Association’s continued commitment to supporting the trade community through knowledge-sharing initiatives and constructive engagement with government authorities.

Distinguished Dignitaries and Speakers

The programme featured an eminent panel of speakers who shared practical insights and guidance on the implementation and benefits of the EMI and AEO programmes.

The distinguished speakers included:

Mr. Jayyannt L. Lapsiaa, President, All India Liquid Bulk Importers & Exporters Association, who graciously hosted the programme and welcomed the participants.
Mr. Pankaj Vora, President, AIIEA, whose leadership and vision continue to drive initiatives that strengthen industry awareness and trade facilitation.

Shri Ravneet Singh Khurana, Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva-II, Mumbai Customs Zone-II, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His address provided valuable clarity on policy, implementation, and regulatory aspects of the EMI and AEO schemes. He also engaged extensively with participants during the interactive session, patiently addressing numerous queries from members of the trade.

Shri Shubh Agarwal, Joint Commissioner, Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, along with other senior Customs officers, who presented an informative overview of the operational benefits and procedures associated with the EMI and AEO programmes.
Mr. Timothy Bochu, Vice President, AIIEA, who reinforced the Association’s commitment to keeping members informed about evolving customs procedures and trade facilitation measures.
Special Virtual Address

A special highlight of the programme was a virtual presentation delivered from New Delhi by a senior officer from the Directorate of International Customs, who joined the session online and shared valuable perspectives on the national importance of the EMI-AEO framework. The presentation was well received by the audience and added significant value to the discussions.

Excellent Participation and Interactive Session

The outreach programme attracted a distinguished gathering of importers, exporters, customs brokers, logistics professionals, industry representatives, and senior Customs officials.

The interactive question-and-answer session was one of the key highlights of the event. Participants raised several practical and policy-related questions, all of which were comprehensively addressed by Shri Ravneet Singh Khurana, Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva-II, along with the Customs officers present.
