National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) announced its decision to earmark 10% of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) corpus for deployment through projects listed on the NSE Social Stock Exchange (NSE-SSE).In March 2026, the CSR Committee of NSE had agreed, in principle, to deploy 10% of NSE’s annual CSR corpus through the NSE-SSE platform, subject to enabling regulatory provisions.On this occasion, the Chairperson of the NSE, Shri Injeti Srinivas, complimented the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for allowing CSR to be routed through the Social Stock Exchange and said that it will enhance transparency, visibility, and impact of CSR contributions.

4. Trinamool Congress strongman Jahangir Khan was arrested by the West Bengal Police. He was apprehended near the Nepal border. He was reportedly attempting to flee across the border when he was detained and brought back to Kolkata for further questioning.

The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at four locations across the Mizoram-Myanmar border, the Tripura-Bangladesh border and West Bengal in a money laundering case linked to a drug trafficking network. The case is related to NCB seizure made by the Agartala Zonal Unit, in which over 49 kilograms of methamphetamine and 40 grams of heroin were recovered.

1. In Andhra Pradesh, a major fire at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant today claimed eight lives and left six others injured. The injured workers were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while rescue efforts continued at the site. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu have expressed grief at the loss of lives in the incident.

2. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep sorrow over the road accident involving a private bus carrying pilgrims from Nellore district in Bihar and announced financial assistance for the victims and their families. The private bus, which left Nellore district for a Kashi pilgrimage, met with an accident in Bihar after reportedly colliding with an oncoming lorry.

1. India has deeply regretted the renewed attacks in West Asia as Israel and Iran traded fresh missile attacks yesterday triggering escalation in the region and jeopardizing the ceasefire. India has called on all parties to immediately de-escalate tensions and ensure that civilians are not harmed.

2. Uttarakhand’s management model received recognition at the second technical meeting of the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group in Puri, Odisha, from 3 to 5 June 2026.
