The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has partnered with Sequel Logistics to strengthen the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs) ecosystem in India. The collaboration was marked by a ceremonial bell-ringing event celebrating the start of EGR trading on NSE.Sequel Logistics will support the initiative through its network of 23 vaults across India, enabling the creation and extinguishment of EGRs while ensuring the secure storage of physical gold backing these receipts. NSE’s Chief Business Development Officer, Sriram Krishnan, stated that a reliable vaulting network is essential for the success of EGRs and highlighted their role in promoting the financialisation of gold through a transparent and exchange-traded platform.
Sequel Logistics’ Managing Director and Founder, Rajkumar S, expressed pride in supporting this landmark initiative and emphasized the company’s commitment to providing secure, transparent, and efficient vaulting services. The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) April passenger and cargo performance reports said, “The cost of jet fuel more than doubled in April, which is pushing airfares up. Forward schedule data is showing a reduced offering in the coming months, indicating that airlines are balancing high fuel costs and weaker demand”.
