MUMBAI, 7 FEBRUARY 2026 (GPN/ SACHIN MURDESHWAR 📞 8108510506): Priyanj Special School, a leading special education institution dedicated to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down’s Syndrome and other learning and developmental needs hosted a colourful and inspiring Sports Day celebration on Saturday, 31st January 2026. The school was founded by Mrs Namrata Chheda.

It is a 27 year old institution.
It is named after her son Priyanj who is diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome and Autism.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of chief guests Pankhuri Awasthy Rode & Gautam Rode, who added immense energy and encouragement to the occasion, engaging warmly with students, teachers, and parents alike.

Set against the spirited backdrop of cheers and laughter, every student participated with full zest and joy, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm in a variety of fun races and activities designed to celebrate movement, teamwork, courage and confidence. The gleam in the children’s eyes and their wholehearted participation truly captured the spirit of sportsmanship and celebration.

The event was a grand success thanks to the tireless efforts of teachers and volunteers, whose planning, coordination and heartfelt dedication ensured that every activity ran smoothly and every child felt included and supported. Their commitment to making the day memorable for each student was evident throughout the programme.

Parents too played a vital role in the success of the day. They cheered from the sidelines, supported their children with encouraging smiles, and came together as a community to applaud the courage and joy of every participant.
