27th IOS PG Students Convention 2024 Together Towards Tomorrow

MUMBAI, 16^th FEBRUARY, 2024 (GPN) : TPCT’s Terna Dental College & Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, has the pleasure & honour of hosting the 27th Indian Orthodontic Society PG Students Convention 2024, was conducted at Terna Dental College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai from 8th to 11th February 2024.

Chief Guest for the program was Hon’ble Smt. Sudha Chandran, Renowned Indian Actress and Accomplished Bharatanatyam Dancer. Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Shri. (Dr.) Rajesh Kuchkulla Reddy, MLA, Telangana and Hon’ble Shri. Malhar Patil, Executive Trustee, Terna Public Charitable Trust, Navi Mumbai.

Inauguration included Lighting of the Lamp by All the IOS Office Bearers including President Dr.Jayesh Rahalkar, Hon Secretary Dr. Sanjay Labh, Vice President Dr. Edeinton Arumugam, President-Elect Dr. Puneet Batra, along with 27th IOS PG Convention Organizing Chairman Dr. Shailesh Shenava, Org. Secretary Dr. Prakash Mudaliar, Scientific Convener Dr. Robin Mathew, Dean Dr. Shishir Singh Terna Dental College and CEO TPCT Mr. P. T. Deshmukh.

Organizing team of 27th IOS PG Students Convention 2024 and Terna Dental College did the felicitation of Dr. Ravindra Nanda, Professor Emeritus, University of Connecticut (USA) Editor-in-Chief of Progress in Orthodontics. Also the felicitation of Dr.U.S. Krishna Nayak, Dean, A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore was done during the Convention.

Welcome address was given by Dr Shailesh Shenava, wherein he appreciated the presence of Dr. Ravindra Nanda, Dr. U. S. Krishna Nayak and all the present dignitaries from thr fraternity of Orthodontics. He also praised the working committee for the smooth conduction of the PG Convention.

IOS President Dr. Jayesh Rahalkar praised the Delegates present in the Auditorium and emphasized on maintaining Student – Teacher relationship for making stronger bonds following the theme line on ‘Together Towards Tomorrow’. Hon Secretary Dr. Sanjay Labh thanked the team of 27th IOS PG Students Convention 2024 for arranging the best of the facilities provided to the Delegates.

The Vote of Thanks for the Convention was proposed the Org. Secretary Dr. Prakash Mudaliar.

Around 2200 delegates from across the country have participated in the Four days Convention. The Convention had Scientific Extravaganza which included workshops on “Shape Memory Aligners” by Dr.Ravindra Nanda (Stalwart International Faculty) and “Advansync2 Appliance” by Dr.Sanjay Labh, Hon. Secretary, IOS. There were workshops also conducted on topics like “TAD, Twin Block, Problem Based Learning, MBT Typhodont, Canine Impaction, Cognathon, NAM and Comprehensive Research” by National level course conductors. Around 20 Keynote Speakers gave their deliberations during this four days convention.

Scientific presentations included Competitive and Noncompetitive categories of Paper Presentations, Poster Presentations and Table Clinics. Organizing team also conducted quiz competition and panel discussion for betterment of the students.

Convention also included Embrace 2024 Sports and Cultural Program wherein On Stage Group Dance, Solo Dance, Duet Dance, Group songs, Solo Songs, Ship wreck. It included Off Stage Competition On Selfie, Photography and Poem Writing. Sports and Games included Marathon, Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom and Chess which was delightfully enjoyed by all the delegates.

Trade Fair Exhibition included around 30 renowned sponsors in the field of Orthodontics. Arrangements made for Trade Fair was really appreciated by all the present stalwarts and the Delegates.

The Objective of conducting the PG Convention in Terna Dental College was all about to increase PG Student’s confidence, improved communication skills and better understanding of procedures than did didactic teaching. At 27th IOS PG Students Convention 2024, we unite our prestigious speakers/mentors from nationwide who add the most value by sharing their knowledge, thoughts, and skills with the attendees greatly influencing the overall experience.

Guest speakers also had a Panel discussion and shared their tips on Practical Exam exercises, Viva Voce, Pedagogy, Dissertation & Recent Advances. Patient care with modern treatment modalities and technology was our main Aim.

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is a specialized branch of Dentistry that deals with the alignment of Malaligned and protruded teeth and also deals with harmonizing the Facial balance by treating the Skeletal Tissues of the Face.

All this was possible because of the painstaking effort of dynamic Organizing Chairman, Prof. Dr. Shailesh Shenava HOD, Dept of Orthodontics, Terna Dental College and his Department Faculty.- ENDS
