LSI To Host “Pre-diabetes to Diabetes: the Trajectory of Concern” on 5th & 6th Jan 2024 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Hospital, Andheri  (West) Mumbai

The conference aims to highlight the prevalence and preventive strategies at Pre-diabetes stage.

MUMBAI, 3rd JANUARY, 2024 (GPN): Lifeness Science Institute is organising the two-day International Conference on “Pre-diabetes to Diabetes: the Trajectory of Concern” on 5th and 6th January 2024 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Hospital, Andheri  (West) Mumbai.  

‘Pre-diabetes’ is a serious health condition characterised by an increase in blood glucose level but not high enough to be defined as type 2 diabetes. The global prevalence of pre-diabetes which is defined by Impaired fasting glucose was 5.8% (298 million) in 2021 and is projected to increase to 6.5% (414 million) in 2045. According to a recent study by ICMR-INDAB around 15.4% of the urban population and 15.2% of rural India are in the pre-diabetic stage. The overall prevalence is 15.3%. 

While addressing the media at the Press Conference held today Gopal Sharma – Director, Future Varsity Education Group, and Lifeness Science Institute said “The idea and primary objective of organising this conference on such a large scale on such vital subject under the initiative of VishwaSwasthyam-2024 is to address every aspect of the Pre-diabetes  and formulate measures to prevent its progress towards Type 2 Diabetes.. What makes this conference unique is that the conference is packed with talks and panel discussions on relevant and critical topics by over 25 renowned national and international experts including endocrinologists, diabetologists, dieticians, nutritionists, lifestyle coach, exercise and yoga experts.”.  Sharma further added, “By implementing early interventions and lifestyle changes, one can mitigate the risk of chronic complications, enhance individual well-being, and contribute to the global effort to curb the rising diabetes epidemic”.

Besides two full-day conference on the 5th and 6th of December, it will be preceded by  Pre-Conference Workshops on 4th January 2024 which will become a vital platform for professionals and researchers to delve into the latest techniques and innovations in pre-diabetes research and up-skilling in diabetes management.
