MUMBAI, 29 OCTOBER, 2023 (GPN): In an era where strokes are alarmingly increasing among both the young and old, World Stroke Day 2023 was marked with a special tribute by Global Hospital, Lower Parel, Mumbai. The healthcare giant orchestrated a commendation ceremony, shining a light on the tenacity of stroke survivors who have valiantly reclaimed their lives. Esteemed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt joined the event, emphasizing, “Rapid response to strokes is pivotal in safeguarding the quality of life for those afflicted.”

The commemorative event, highlighting the journeys of 10 individuals, was graced by notable figures such as Dr. Nitin Dange, Senior Consultant in Neuro Surgery and Endovascular Surgery, and other specialists across the neuro specialities. They gathered in support of the survivors, recognizing the urgency and complexity of addressing stroke, a formidable foe that is a leading cause of global mortality and long-term disability.

“Strokes don’t discriminate by age and are notoriously unpredictable, often striking suddenly,” explained Dr. Dange. “What remains consistent, however, is the catastrophic aftermath, both personally and societally. At Global Hospitals, we champion proactive stroke awareness and have mobilized support networks, ensuring survivors don’t navigate their post-stroke journey alone. Our felicitation program is a testament to the indomitable spirit of stroke survivors. Their unique battles inspire tailored recovery strategies, underscoring the necessity for adaptability and continued hope in the healing process.

The hospital’s initiative goes beyond immediate medical intervention, encompassing ongoing rehabilitation, and customized recovery protocols. Gracing the occasion, Mr Sanjay Dutt applauded the Hospital’s groundbreaking strides in stroke care, stating, “Their innovative approach has significantly influenced the realm of patient recovery and community awareness. It’s an honour to support this cause, celebrating both the hospital’s clinical advancements and the unwavering strength of each survivor.”

Dr. Vivek Talaulikar, COO of IHH Healthcare India, affirmed, “Our commitment is unwavering in the face of stroke’s challenges. Armed with cutting-edge technology and a team of specialists, we’re dedicated to timely, decisive action, vital for mitigating long-term impacts. Global Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and a relentless advocate for stroke awareness and comprehensive care.”

The event closed with heartfelt words from a grateful survivor, Suresh Menon: “I am a living testament to Global Hospital’s swift and efficient care. This recognition galvanizes my journey forward. I am immensely thankful for the enlightenment and support provided for sustaining life post-stroke.”

Through events like these, Gleneagles Global Hospitals reinforces its position at the vanguard of combating stroke, integrating immediate response with an enduring commitment to individuals’ holistic recovery and well-being.Ends
