NATIONAL, 22 OCTOBER, 2023 (GPN): The Federation of Indian Industries, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Agriculture, awarded the Velliangiri Uzhavan Producer Company Ltd with a National Award for its successful operation under the guidance of Isha.
In a ceremony held yesterday (October 18) in New Delhi, the Additional Secretary of the Central Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Mr. Faiz Ahmed Kidwai presented the award.
On behalf of Velliangiri Uzhavan Producer Company, the Chairman of the company and Thondamuthur farmer, Mr. Kumar and Isha Brahmachari Swami Rabhya received the award.
The event was organized by the Federation of Indian Industries to identify and promote the best performing farmer producer companies across India. Velliangiri FPO has been awarded in the category of ‘Membership Engagement’ at the national level. In other words, this award has been given to the organization to recruit more farmers as members, involve them in various activities and perform well.
Sadhguru congratulated the farmers of the company for receiving this award. The Velliangiri Uzhavan Producer Company operating in Thondamuthur area of Coimbatore was started in 2013 under the guidance of Sadhguru. 1063 farmers from surrounding villages are members of this company which has been consistently profiting in its endeavors.
They produce coconuts, betel nuts and vegetables and sell them directly without middlemen and earn good profits. The company is doing well at national and state level. It is noteworthy that the company has been accumulating various awards at the national and state level for the last 4 years.Ends
