NATIONAL, 11 MAY, 2023 (GPN)– India’s leading electrical goods company, Polycab India Limited (PIL) has partnered with the National Federation of Engineers (NFE) to promote electrical safety in India. The company is sponsoring a series of workshops across Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which is supporting this event had earlier indicated in February that, NEC 2023 code will be mandatory for all electrical installations in India.

Polycab India delivered a presentation on “Safe Wiring Practices” in accordance with the revised NEC 2023 guidelines. The presentation was well-received by the attendees, which included electrical consultants, engineers, and contractors.

Speaking about the partnership, Mr. Bhushan Sawhney, Executive President and Chief Business Officer (Cables) Polycab India said, “Electrical safety is a top priority for Polycab India, and we are committed to creating awareness about safe electrical practices. With the increasing number of electrical accidents, it is more important than ever to promote standardized and safe electrical practices. Through our partnership with NFE and BIS, we aim to educate industry professionals on the importance of adhering to the NEC 2023 standards and adopting safe electrical practices. We believe that by working together to create a safer electrical ecosystem, we can help prevent accidents and ensure safety of individuals and infrastructure.”

Speaking about the association S. Gopa Kumar, President, National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety (NFE) said, National Electrical code of India 2023 brought paradigm shift in the way of using cables and wires in the construction industry. E.g., the mandatory use of wires with 70% light transmittance for safety services in escape routes. We are glad to have the support of Polycab India in our mass awareness programs on NEC of India 2023, who can display and demonstrate the new requirements of wires and cables to participants.Ends
