India’s Medical Value Tourism (MVT) Industry to Grow at 11% CAGR

MUMBAI, 1st MAY, 2023 (GPN): Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital – a super-specialty hospital in Mumbai participated in One Earth One Health – Advantage Healthcare India 2023 Summit cum Expo held on 26th and 27th April 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The stall set up by L H Hiranandani Hospital was one the best in the exhibition, in terms of information dissemination and presentation, which attracted many foreign delegates with their commitments. The two-day long summit was organised by The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with India’s G20 Presidency.  

The summit was inaugurated virtually by Hon Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in attendance.  PM Modi in his inaugural address acknowledged India’s talent, technology, track record, and tradition in holistic healthcare. Indian doctors, nurses, and caregivers are widely respected for their competence, commitment, and talent, and healthcare systems worldwide have benefited from their expertise.

Commenting on the participation of Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital in the summit Dr Sujit Chatterjee – CEO of the Hospital said “The summits like these are great platforms for promoting India’s expertise in healthcare in foreign countries and should be held at all Metro cities across the country. I urge Maharashtra Government to host a similar event in Mumbai – the financial capital with the presence of finest hospitals and direct flight connection to many African and Middle East countries”.       

This 6th edition of One Earth One Health – Advantage Healthcare India 2023 witnessed over 125 exhibitors and around 500 hosted foreign delegates from 70 countries. Reverse Buyer Seller Meetings and scheduled B2B meetings with hosted delegates from more than 70 designated countries in Africa, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, SAARC, and ASEAN were brought together and connected the Indian healthcare providers and foreign participants on one forum. This summit also had panel discussions with eminent speakers and experts from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of AYUSH, and Start-ups along with interactive sessions with the stakeholders. 

The summit emphasised the importance of global collaborations and partnerships for Building Resilient Global Health Architecture and working towards achieving Universal Health Coverage through value-based healthcare. It further aimed to showcase India’s strength in Medical Value Travel (MVT) as an exporter of Healthcare Workforce providing Value-Based Healthcare services and its emergence as a major hub for world-class healthcare and wellness services.
