Vijay Sankeshwar’s much awaited biopic ‘Vijayanand’ grand trailer launch today at Bengaluru

NATIONAL, 19 NOVEMBER, 2022 (GPN): ‘Vijayanand’, the biopic on Padma Shri awardee Vijay Sankeshwar, the founder and owner of the largest fleet of commercial vehicles in the country, is all set to release across the country on December 9. On August 2, 2022, the movie’s teaser was revealed. The trailer launch of the much awaited movie will be held today in Bengaluru.

Vijay Sankeshwar is known for his eventful journey of starting from a humble beginning to becoming the owner of the largest commercial vehicles fleet in the country. The Hubballi-based business tycoon founded the Vijayanand Roadlines (VRL), which is now one of India’s largest logistics firms. Vijay is also credited with running not one, but two leading Kannada dailies – Vijay Karnataka, which he later sold to the Times of India group and Vijayavani.

The film also marks the production debut of VRL Films. son Anand Sankeshwar, who is also the Chairman of VRL group and the man behind VRL Films, said, “There were many people who approached us for the rights to make a biopic but the sincerity and the script of Rishika and Nihal convinced us that they are the right people to do justice to my father’s journey so far.”

The film is produced by Anand Sankeshwar and directed by Rishika Sharma. Keertan Poojary is the director of photography, and Gopi Sundar is the composer of the music.

UFO Moviez, known for distributing ‘Rocketry’, ‘777 Charlie‘, ‘Karthikeya 2‘, ‘Bimbisara’ and ‘Prem Geet 2’, will distribute the film pan-India.

The music of the film has been composed by national award-winning composer Gopi Sundar, while Keertan Poojary and Hemanth have done cinematography and editing, respectively.

‘Vijayanand’ is a rags to riches story starring Nihal Rajput in the lead title role, The film has Anant Nag in the role of Vijay’s father BG Sankeshwar, Siri Prahlad as his wife, Lalitha and Bharath Bopanna as his son Anand. The film also stars V Ravichandran, Shine Shetty, Archana Kottige, Siri Prahlad and Vinaya Prasad in pivotal roles.

Rishika Sharma earlier directed a film called Trunk with Nihal as the lead actor. The film made on a very small budget did wonders at box office making it one of the most beneficial films in 2018.

The film, which was primarily shot on location in Hubballi, where the company is headquartered, is now ready for release and the makers have zeroed in on a release date as well. Speaking at the film’s audio launch earlier, Vijay said that the film’s narrative was 100% true to real incidents that happened in his life and that no cinematic liberties have been taken for visual appeal. The film, he said, will capture his life and beginnings of VRL Transport from just one truck to what it is today, as well as his initiation into media publishing. Speaking at the event, Vijay said that he was immensely impressed with Nihal’s dedication in trying to imbibe his mannerisms, body language, etc., in trying to make the biopic as authentic as possible. In fact, that was one of the mandates he had given Rishika – to not deviate from the truth.Ends
