MUMBAI, 16 OCTOBER, 2022 (GPN): actor Kartik Aaryan flagged off the Cyclothon organised by Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital for, Ride For Breast Cancer’. A Cyclothon to create awareness about early screening and detection of breast cancer at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vile Parle, in Mumbai, India, on Sunday, Oct 16, 2022.

About breast cancer and purpose of event:
The alarming rise in breast cancer incidences of India is a cause of concern for oncologists and policy makers alike. Accounting for 25-32% of all women cancers in women, breast cancer has become a common cancer amongst urban women. Most importantly, while the occurrence of breast cancer is higher in western countries, Asian countries such as India are witnessing a worrisome age shift with peak rise in 40’s age group.

We need to identify high risk females with hereditary predisposition and offer early screening and diagnostic options. Most importantly, awareness about Self-Breast Examination (SBE) needs to start at the age of 20 years.

Ride to Beat Breast Cancer Cyclothon is one such event to create awareness about early detection and constant screening to ensure young breast cancer patients are diagnosed and treated in time. The event has garnered an enthusiastic response over 150 participants including from breast cancer survivors, doctors, female community representatives, key opinion leaders, and young students.

Noted chief guests such as Mr Kartik Aaryan is invited to flag off the event and help to strengthen the noble cause of creating awareness about breast cancer in masses. A number of key opinion leaders and doctors from the community will also mark their presence to further empower the individuals currently struggling with cancer.Ends
