The inaugural day at NIFT Mumbai Converge 2022 – A two-days Inter-Campus cultural & sports annual meet was graced by eminent personalities amidst 200 students participants.
MUMBAI, 8th OCTOBER, 2022 (GPN): NIFT Campuses organize the zonal annual Converge event on a rotation basis. This year the privileged Campus NIFT Mumbai is hosting a two-days Inter-Campus cultural & sports annual meet from today.
The two-day Sports, Cultural and Literary extravaganza will have about 25 indoor, outdoor and online events scheduled on the 8th and 9th Oct 2022 at NIFT Campus, Kharghar. Four NIFT Campuses from the west zone: Bhopal, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, and Mumbai, are participating in the event along with around 200 students.
A formal inaugural event on 8TH Oct 2022 was graced by the august presence of eminent guests, Chief Guest – Shri. Bipin Kumar Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai, Special Guest – Ms. Meher Castelino, First Femina Miss India, and Guest of Honour – Shri. Naved Aslam, Indian Film Actor. The sports event began by lighting the Mashal.
Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Godiawala, Director of NIFT Mumbai, extended his warm welcome to all the dignitaries, student participants, faculties, officials, and assistants from all four NIFT Campuses. Dr. Godiawala motivated all the students to keep the spirit of sportsmanship high and play to the best of their potential till the last moment. Chief Guest Shri. Bipin Kumar Singh mentioned in his speech that Sports should be part of everyday life and should not limit to annual sports events of the Institutes.
He further highlighted the importance of sports, meditation, and yoga in overall personality development. Shri. Singh encouraged students to bring sports into everyday life and remain mentally and physically fit. In his speech, he said, “Participation is more important, and winning and losing is part of the game”. Ms. Meher Castelino, and Mr. Naved Aslam congratulated all the participants and wished them good luck for the sports and cultural event Converge’ 22.
Students welcomed the esteemed guest with a lezim performance. Dhol- Tasha, known as mangal vadya/celebratory instruments, added high energy to the entire environment.
On the first day various Sports events: Athletics, Volleyball, Basket-ball, Chess, Literary events: Quiz, Debate, AD Mad, Shayari, Prankster, & Cultural events: Group Dance, Battle of Bands were organised.Ends
