1. Nation pays homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary on 02 Oct.
   • President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on the 153rd birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, fondly known as the Father of the Nation.
2. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards for Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2022 on 02 Oct and Jal Jeevan Mission Functionality Assessment at a function in New Delhi.
   • (a) In the big states category the first award for Swachh Survekshan Grameen was given to Telangana, second to Haryana and the third award was bagged by Tamil Nadu.
   • (b) In small states and UTs category, Andaman and Nicobar won the first award, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu second and Sikkim got the third award.
3. Indian railways has recorded best ever monthly freight loading of over 115 million tonnes in September this year. The incremental loading in September.
4. ANDHRA PRADESH : Three cities — Greater Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati — were ranked in the top 10 in the category of towns with more than one lakh population in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 rankings which were announced by President Droupadi Murmu at the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav in New Delhi on Saturday.

6. President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two day visit to Gujarat tomorrow. This will be her first visit to Gujarat as President of India.
7. CHANDIGARH: PGIMER has proposed a state-of-the-art medical college with an intake of 100 students for the MBBS course, which it plans to start at the institute’s extension in Sarangpur, Chandigarh
8. PUDUCHERRY : Soon, a medical university will be established in Puducherry, said Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Sunday.
9. TAMIL NADU : Sanitary workers begin strike, Corpn announces bonus to pacify them.
   • Meanwhile, the CCMC announced a festival bonus of Rs 3,750 to each worker who has completed five years of service. A total of 4,750 workers will get benefits, said CCMC Commissioner M Pratap.
10. TELANGANA : Ahead of making the big announcement on the launch of a national party on the occasion of Dasara on October 5, TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday held a luncheon meeting with his cabinet colleagues and all 33 district presidents at Pragathi Bhavan.
11. Congress MP and party presidential poll candidate Shashi Tharoor will be in Hyderabad to attend an event organised by FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation), the women’s wing of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), on Monday.
12. UTTAR PRADESH : Former UP CM and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav was on Sunday shifted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after his health deteriorated. The 82-year-old leader is under treatment in the hospital since August 22 and his condition is said to be stable now.
13. Senior Indian Space Research Organization scientist Anil Kumar has been appointed as the Vice-President of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). Dr. Anil Kumar is currently serving as the Associate Director, of ISRO Telemetry, Tracking, and Command Network (ISTRAC).

INDORE: Indore bagged the title of India’s cleanest city for the sixth time in a row as the results of the Central government’s annual cleanliness survey ‘Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022’.Madhya Pradesh secured the first position in the category of best performing states, followed by Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

BENGALURU:Consumer beta testing for ONDC: In Bengaluru, the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a technology similar to UPI that promises to democratise access to the internet for small enterprises, went live with its beta test. Consumers will be able to sample the new platform during the beta test, which will also allow for the gathering of insightful feedback. Customers may shop utilising buyer applications like Mystore, PayTM, and Spicemoney during the beta phase. By assisting them with catalogues and merchandise, seller apps let prospective merchants connect with buyers on the platform.
16. CHENNAI:Pegatron third iPhone manufacturer in India: With the opening of a factory in Mahindra World City in Chennai, Taiwan’s Pegatron became the third Apple supplier to establish a production facility in India. It will put about Rs 1,100 crore into the facility, which might lead to the creation of 14,000 employment. The other two Apple suppliers with facilities in India are the Taiwanese companies Foxconn and Wistron.

5. Punjabi singer Alfaaz injured after being ‘attacked’ at eatery in Mohali, rapper Honey Singh shares Instagram post. The singer is undergoing treatment at the private hospital with head injuries.
6. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a multi-phase ‘Operation Garuda’. Operation Garuda will help to disrupt, degrade, and dismantle networks with international linkages.Operation Garuda is a Global Operation that was initiated in close coordination with Interpol and Narcotics Control Bureau.During this special operation, 6600 suspects were checked, 127 new cases were registered, and 175 persons including six absconder’s offenders were arrested.
7. Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers Sujoy Lal Thaosen and Anish Dayal Singh have been appointed as the new director generals of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) respectively. Thaosen’s scheduled retirement is in November this year, while Singh will superannuate in December 2024. The order for their appointment was issued by the Personnel Ministry after sanction from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the prime minister.

1. BIG BOOST ‘: IAF to induct made-in-India Light Combat Helicopter today 03 Oct. The combat helicopter, developed by state-run aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), has been primarily designed for deployment in high-altitude regions.
2. The Sela tunnel being constructed atop 13,000 feet in Arunachal Pradesh for providing the Indian security forces an all weather road to Tawang near China border will be ready by January 2023. The Border Roads Organization (BRO), which is constructing the tunnel, said.
3. India Defence Start-Up Redon Systems Pvt Ltd has developed a Barrel-Launched Loitering Munition system that is capable of carrying out missions in Semi-Autonomous or Autonomous modes even in GPS-denied environments.
   • Barrel-Launched Loitering Munition system can carry a payload of 1.5 kilograms at a service ceiling of 4,000 meters and has a strike radius of 30 kilometers to target enemy hideouts, Vehicles Fuel and ammunition dumps.
4. The new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has asked the Army, Navy and Air Force to make a move ahead towards the creation of integrated theatre commands.
5. A policeman was killed and a CRPF jawan injured when militants attacked a security forces team in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

1. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra who is on an official visit to the Maldives from 1st of October to 3rd of October met President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and assured him of the firm commitment to the growth of India and Maldives relationship.
2. Khalistan Referendum has led to a diplomatic tug of war between India and Canada with both countries cautioning their nationals against traveling to both countries. It began after India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a warning on September 23 asking Indian nationals and students to be extra careful while traveling to Canada.
3. Digantara Research and Technologies Private Limited (Digantara) and Rocket Factory Augsburg AG (RFA) sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their partnership in the areas of launch procurement and Space Situational Awareness (SSA). Under this partnership, RFA will launch two Digantara satellites into low Earth orbit using its RFA ONE launch system.

Bhasin, before being elected to the post, was the executive vice president of IACC. Bhasin is the 54th national president of IACC, which was set up in October 1968 and is headquartered in Mumbai, having 14 offices all over India, with a large membership from large, medium and small business entities.Bhasin’s 60 years of eminent association with legal practice took him to several leadership positions in the profession.  FACTS ABOUT INDIA 

Lal Bahadur Shastri (2 October 1904 – 11 January 1966) was an Indian politician who served as the second Prime Minister of India.

Shastri was born to Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari Devi in Mughalsarai on 2 October 1904, sharing his birthday with Mahatma Gandhi. He led the country during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965. His slogan “ Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” became very popular during the war. The war formally ended with the

Tashkent Agreement on 10 January 1966; he died the following day, still in Tashkent, with the cause of his death in dispute; it was reported to be a cardiac arrest but his family was not satisfied with the proffered reason. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna.

He promoted the White Revolution – a national campaign to increase the production and supply of milk – by supporting the Amul milk co-operative of Anand, Gujarat and creating the National Dairy Development Board. Underlining the need to boost India’s food production, Shastri also promoted the Green Revolution in India in 1965. This led to an increase in food grain production, especially in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
