5G Launch: The nation’s 5G services were officially inaugurated by PrimeMinister Narendra Modi on October 1st, 2022, ushering in a period of ultra-high-speed mobile internet, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. The outstanding credit card base dropped to 77.99 million in August from over 80 million in July, mainly on account of the new norms of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) that warrant the deactivation of cards that are inactive for a year.
While there was a 2.8 per cent decline in net card additions on a month-on-month (MoM) basis in August, a first in many months, credit card spends slipped 3 per cent on a high base. Still, spends topped the Rs 1-trillion mark for the sixth consecutive month.

World’s largest jungle safari park to be developed in Haryana. The World’s largest jungle safari park is spread across an area of 10000 acres in the Aravalli Mountain Range of Gurugram and Nuh District. This project will be the largest such project in the world.
The park will also include a large herbarium, an aviary, four zones for big cars, a large area for herbivores, an area for exotic animal/birds, an underwater world, natural trails, visitors, tourism zones, botanical garden, biomes, equatorial, tropical, coastal, desert, etc.
For the making of the World’s largest jungle safari park an Aravalli Foundation will be set up which will manage the project.

4. 75 day long ‘COVID Vaccination Amrit Mahotsava’ concluded on Friday. The campaign began on 15th of July in a ‘mission mode’. Under this, special COVID vaccination drives were organized by all States and UTs to increase uptake for the precaution dose of COVID Vaccine among the eligible adult population.

5. Former Jharkhand minister KN Tripathi on Friday submitted his nomination papers for the Congress President election.

Supreme Court dismissed a PIL alleging that the lion sculpture atop the under-construction Parliament in Central Vista violates the national emblem’s design. “That impression depends on the mind of the person (seeing it),” said the bench. Petitioners had contended that the lions appeared “ferocious and aggressive” with their “canine visible” unlike the “calm and composed” original.

1. In the Kashmir valley, two terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out a wee hour today in Yedipora village of Pattan area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Both the slain terrorists were associated with the proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit.

A joint team of Army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF, and Police cordoned off Yedipora village after inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

2. Nagaland govt has banned Popular Front of India (PFI) and organizations affiliated with it in the state.

3. A special NIA court acquitted Arshi Qureshi, a manager of the Islamic Research Foundation, whose President Zakir Naik was arrested in 2016 on charges of radicalising youngsters.

4. *UTTARAKHAND* CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Pauri district on Friday to meet the parents of murder victim Ankita Bhandari. The CM assured the family of strictest action against the culprits, adding that he will get the matter heard in a fast-track court. Ankita, a 19-year-old receptionist at a resort, was allegedly killed by expelled BJP leader Vinod Arya’s son Pulkit.

5. *HARYANA* administration on Friday bulldozed 48 shops that were built illegally on government land in Rewari. Police said the shops were allegedly built by a local gangster named Sunil Dulgach, who is head of the ‘Aaloo’ gang and is currently in jail.

4. *FAMED IAF PILOT ABHINANDAN VARTHAMANAM’S MIG-21 SQUADRON BOWS OUT FROM SRINAGAR* : Raised in Chandigarh, the 51 Squadron moved to Srinagar on 1 May 1986. It was initially equipped with MiG-21 Type 76 and then with the Bisons in January 2004.

5. *IAF To Phase Out Remaining MiG-21 Bison Squadrons By 2025* :. India has three more squadrons operating the MiG-21 fighter fleet, which will be phased out by 2025. The MiG-21 (Mikoyan-Gurevich), whose NATO reporting name is ‘Fishbed’, was designed as a supersonic jet interceptor aircraft by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau of the erstwhile Soviet Union.

The aircraft, which made its maiden flight on 16 June, 1955, holds the record of being the most produced supersonic jet in aviation history. It has had a long production run, from 1959 to 1985, and underwent updates and modification in many countries, including India.

The first MiG-21 aircraft came into the IAF in 1963 and since then a total of 874 have been inducted, including various variants of it. The first upgrade was in the 1970s and this variant was known as the MiG-21 Bis.
