GSB Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava celebrations here is unique, for the use of eco-friendly materials and methods, including the making of the huge clay idol. The idol is usually adorned with 60 kilograms of gold and 175 kilograms of silver. The golden crown on the idol weighs around 22 kg.
The samiti is also in the forefront of philanthropic activities which include providing of educational aid, distributing of scholarships to students, feeding the poor, extending medical assistance to the needy and the deserving, etc. The trust regularly contributes to a number of institutions engaged in human relief activities, apart from directly promoting educational and humungous welfare Activities.
During the 10 to 12-days festival (This 68th Celebration will be held for 10 Days), people can perform Pujas and take part in various rituals and contribute to the Anna Dana Seva – food distribution to all. The devotees offer TULABHAR Seva in large numbers, wherein they get a chance to give the seva of items mentioned in the Seva leaflet proportionate to their weight. The timings for this seva is 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
GSB Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Samiti’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations began on Wednesday, August 31st and will conclude on Friday, 9th September, on the Anant Chaturdashi day. Puja at the venue is conducted every day from 6.30 am to 9.00 pm, while Prasadam is distributed between 2 pm and 4.30 pm. This year Maha Pooja followed by Anna Santarpan and Apoopa (Modak Naivedya) to the Lord Ananta will be conducted at 12.30 pm immediately followed by Prasad Vitarana (distributing Prasad meals to devotees) thereafter. The Ratri Puja is done at 9 pm. Bhajans and cultural programmes are scheduled to be held from 9 pm onwards every day.
The committee had taken up various religious oblations, contests, programmes etc., during last year. The GSBS Medical Trust, associated with the committee, will be holding the Healthy Baby Contest for the babies in two category (1) upto one year and (2)One year to three year olds on Sunday September 4th. It also provides financial assistance for the Education of the needy and distributes Scholarships, Educational Awards, Merit Award to Eligible students.
The Samiti is also conducting free medical checkup and health awareness camp on Wednesday 7th September from 9.00 am onwards.

Free Bus (Shuttle) Service is arranged from dadar to the venue for all devotees.
