As a continuation of the journey for the global Save Soil movement, riders from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Madhya Pradesh have begun the #Ride4soil, a two week-long campaign flagged off by Sadhguru on 24 June at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.

MUMBAI, 1st JULY, 2022 (GPN): Around 40 bike riders will travel different parts of the western states as part of the #Ride4Soil campaign to spread the message of the global Save Soil movement. Professional riders along with volunteers of the movement, which began earlier this year in March, today started the 5 days long ride from Mira Bhayander on the outskirts of Mumbai.

German-Indian actor Suzanne Bernert, most known for her role as Queen Helena of TV Show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and her actor husband Akhil Mishra, famous for his role of Dubeji from Movie 3 Idiots, who are also ardent supporters of the cause, showed up to extend their support to the riders early this morning.

“I think an actor can choose certain kinds of movements that they can support and if they do they should do it wholeheartedly and they should not do it for fame or blame or whatever. They should just do it because they believe in a cause like we believe in this cause,” said the Accidental Prime Minister star, who regularly supports the cause through her social media.

“Definitely it’s a global situation, because otherwise why would so many countries be interested, so many countries and representatives of governments be willing to meet Sadhguru, listen to him and even sign an MoU,” said Suzanne on the growing soil desertification around the world. Both Suzanne and Akhil were seen wearing the Save Soil T Shirts.

Balakrishnan, one of the riders, said, “I’m a father of a 6 year old girl. I know what her future is going to be after 30-40 years. And knowingly what future she’s going to have, the civil wars, the famines, I cannot sit idle at home and do nothing. So I want to contribute as much as possible.

The riders will cover Ahmedabad, Vapi, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Morbi, Junagadh, Somanth, Diu, Bhavnagar, Anand, Baroda, Halol in Gujarat. In Maharashtra, the ride will travel from Pune to Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and continue to Sanquelim, Surla, Ponda, Margao, Verna, Vasco, Panjim in Goa.

In Madhya Pradesh volunteers will touch Indore, Sanwer, Ujjain, Unhel, Nagda, Khachrod, Ratlam, Badnawar, Rajgarh, Dhar, Ghatabillod and Betma and speak to locals and educate them about the condition of the soil around the world and why this movement is relevant to all of us.

On 24th June, Sadhguru, Founder-Isha Foundation, flagged off a group of bike riders in front of Adiyogi, the same place where he culminated his 100 days long journey for soil as a solo rider which began on 21st March in London. During his journey he has passed through 27 nations in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East and 10 states in India. These riders are travelling to various parts of the country to cover around 100 cities spreading the movement’s message.

The #Ride4Soil campaign aims to educate rural people of India, particularly farmers, about the rapid soil extinction across the planet and invite individuals to take action and support governments to implement necessary policies to improve organic content in soil.
