MAHARASHTRA, 8th APRIL, 2022 (GPN): ‘In the current times of inflation and economic recession, CIDCO’s affordable housing is beneficial for the citizens,” expressed Shri Eknath Shinde, Urban Development Minister while inaugurating the computerized draw of CIDCO’s January 2022 housing scheme.

On this occasion, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Vice-Chairman, and Managing Director, CIDCO, Shri Ashwin Mudgal, Joint Managing Director, Dr. Kalias Shinde, Joint Managing Director, Shashikant Mahavarkar, Chief Vigilance Officer, Faiyaz Khan, General Manager (Housing), along with other CIDCO department heads and officials were present.

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Vice-chairman, and Managing Director, CIDCO briefed about the various features of the housing scheme and said that it is a step towards fulfilling CIDCO’s mission of providing affordable housing.

To supervise the computerized draw process, a committee was appointed under the observation of Shri Suresh Kumar, Ex-Lokayukta. Apart from the oversight committee, Santosh Pimple, Madhukar Pisal, and Rajesh Chavan acted as moderators from applicant’s side.

The applicants who won the houses in the draw expressed the satisfactory feeling of owning a house in a city with well-developed infrastructure facilities like Navi Mumbai, and their dream was fulfilled because of CIDCO.

CIDCO launched the housing scheme on 26th January 2022 under the guidance of the Government of Maharashtra. Initially, 5,730 houses (tenements) were made available in the Taloja node. After this, a total of 6,508 flats were available by adding some available tenements from Dronagiri, Ghansoli, Kalamboli, Kharghar, and Taloja nodes so that more and more citizens can avail the benefits of the scheme. Out of the total 6,508 houses, 1,905 houses are available for the economically weaker sections and 4,603 houses are for the general category. The housing scheme received an overwhelming response from the citizens.

The software used by CIDCO for the computerized draw of the housing scheme has been developed by a reputed software company from Pune called Probity Soft. The system works without any human intervention and has been tested by the Computer Department of IIT Bombay. In the lottery process, three representatives from the applicants are involved as moderators. During the draw, the list of eligible applicants and flats is randomly mixed. The process is highly transparent and ensures fair and equal opportunities for all applicants.

The list of the successful applicants from the January-2022 housing scheme has been published on CIDCO’s website https://lottery.cidcoindia.com
