IPGA KNOWLEDGE SERIES presents THE KHARIF CROP OUTLOOK WEBINAR At 5 pm on Friday, September 18, 2020

·         A focused discussion that will cover key aspects such as sowing, weather impact, the impact of monsoon this season, expected production, demand and supply, as well as price outlook for Kharif pulses viz., Urad, Moong, and Tur.

·         While Urad and Moong crops will soon arrive in mandis and the Tur crop is now in its growing phase, the question at the forefront is “Is India set for a bumper kharif crop due to good monsoon and increased sowing, or will excess rain play spoilsport?”

Mumbai, September 10, 2020 (GPN): India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA), the nodal body for India’s pulses trade and industry will be hosting a KHARIF CROP OUTLOOK WEBINAR under the aegis of ‘THE IPGA KNOWLEDGE SERIES’ at 5 pm on Friday, September 18, 2020. The IPGA KNOWLEDGE SERIES consists of webinars hosted with eminent domain experts from the Government, Market, and Industry to discuss and explore topics of critical interest to the pulses sector in India and the world at large.

The speaker panel for the KHARIF CROP OUTLOOK WEBINAR will include esteemed panelists such as Dr. S. K. Malhotra, Agriculture Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Mr. Jatin Singh, Founder & Managing Director, Skymet Weather Services Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Nirav Desai, Managing Partner, GGN Research, Mr. B Krishnamurthy, Managing Director, Four-P International Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, Mr. Anish Goyal, Director, AgroPure Capital Foods (GPA Capital Foods) and Mr. Nitin Kalantri, CEO, Kalantry Food Products. The webinar will be moderated by well-known commodities expert and television anchor, Ms. Manisha Gupta, Editor – Commodities & Currencies, CNBC TV 18.

The webinar will focus on key aspects such as sowing, expected production, demand and supply, price outlook as well as the quantum of rainfall, weather conditions till the end of the year and expected impact in the upcoming months till the harvest of pulses, especially Tur, towards the end of the year, carry-over stock of pulses, the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, etc. for Kharif pulses viz., Urad, Moong and Tur.”

The webinar panelists will also delve on the challenges faced by the milling sector in the current COVID-19 pandemic situation and strategies adopted by millers to optimize their capacity utilization and milling margins.
