NATIONAL, MUMBAI, 06 SEPTEMBER, 2020 (GPN): Probing the drug angle in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday (September 5) arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik and the Bollywood star’s house manager, Samuel Miranda. The duo was arrested after 10 hours of questioning on Friday. They will be produced before a Mumbai court tomorrow (September 7).
The duo’s arrest clearly shows that the noose around Rhea Chakraborty is tightening, and there is a possibility that she would also be arrested by the NCB, which has already summoned her for questioning on Sunday.
According to sources, Showik has confessed to NCB that he used to buy drugs for Sushant Singh on the behest of his sister Riya through Samuel Miranda.
The NCB has summoned Rhea Chakraborty in connection with the drug angle on Sunday. They will question her again on Monday.
She has reportedly admitted to having procured them for Sushant Singh Rajput through her brother. Not only that, but the actress has also confessed to have asked Showik for ‘5gs of bud’ on 15th March 2020. Rhea allegedly knew that her brother got drugs from Zaid and Basit (the peddlers who were earlier arrested by the agency).
The actress reportedly also knew that Samuel Miranda got drugs from Zaid. Rhea has admitted to the procurement of drugs, but she has stated that she did not consume them. As per the latest reports, the NCB has summoned her on Monday again. According to their press release, her statement wasn’t complete because of which she gets called. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer, Vikas Singh’s representative, has said that she might get arrested if not able to answer the agency.
To gain Sympathy of the ired public Rhea’s father called Media as Vultures who attacked and mobbed Rhea on her way to NCB Headquarters and blamed Indian’s for spoiling and ruining a Middle-Class Family, Although it is evident that his children deal in drugs and Narcotics and had absconded earlier to avoid charges and allegations.

Rhea’s Expensive Lawyer Satish Maneshinde whom only the Rich Class can afford
Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said that the actor is innocent and has not approached any court for anticipatory bail either. In her defense He said, She had not consumed herself any drugs and had wholeheartedly loved SSR and is ready to be blamed only for sake of her love.
Earlier, the reports doing the rounds had stated that Rhea has confessed to typing out the drug-related chats herself, during a round of questioning with Mumbai Police.
When GPN reached out to Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde to find out the truth behind the reports, he messaged: “No time for all this. We go by what CBI, ED, Police or NCB officially says in writing.”
In screenshots of WhatsApp chats made public by Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti on her Twitter page on Friday night, Rhea, her brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, and Siddharth Pithani talk of “doobie” (which Google defines as cannabis cigarette) and ‘blueberry kush’.
Shweta had tweeted to share the screenshots from a WhatsApp group named “NIFW”. The group members include names like Aayush SSR, Anandi SSR, Siddharth Pithani SSR, Rhea and others.
Earlier chats leaked in sections of the media allegedly had Rhea talking of using MDMA and also discussing marijuana.
“In case we speak about hard drugs, I haven’t been doing too much. Tried MDMA once,” Rhea allegedly messaged a man named Gaurav Arya, asking him: “You have MD?” A message sent to her by one Jaya Saha on November 25 last year read: “Use 4 drops in coffee, tea or water and let him sip it. Give it 30-40 minutes for it to kick in.” It is being presumed that the “him” refers to Sushant.

Satish Maneshinde, representing actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, is said to be among the most expensive criminal lawyers in the country.
He had successfully defended Salman Khan after his SUV car ran over sleeping pavement dwellers in September 2002, killing one and injuring four others. Maneshinde also represented Sanjay Dutt in the 1993 Mumbai Blast case and for possessing illegal weapons. He has also defended controversial Mumbai Police inspector Daya Nayak in a disproportionate assets case; underworld don Chhota Rajan’s wife Sujata Nikalje and bookie Shoban Mehta, who was accused of match-fixing.
Maneshinde, a protégé of the late Ram Jethmalani, charges Rs 10 lakh a day for representations sources said.
Apart from his celebrity clientele, in June this year, Maneshinde was appointed as a special public prosecutor in the Palghar lynching case, where two Hindu religious leaders and their driver were lynched by a mob on suspicion of being child-lifters while they were passing through Gadchinchale village in Palghar district on their way to Surat in a car on April 16.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, and his father, KK Singh, had filed an FIR in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and others for abetment to suicide, misappropriation of funds and wrongful confinement. Following a Supreme Court order last week, Sushant’s death is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation. In a recent statement, Maneshinde dismissed the allegations against her as “total nonsense”. But the hiring of Maneshinde as Rhea’s counsel has led to a lot of social media speculation about why she needs such a high-profile lawyer if she has nothing to hide.
There are new twists and turns every day to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. While the Enforcement Directorate and CBI are probing different angles of his death, Chakraborty says she has already been “convicted” by the media.
Rhea, 28-year-old arrived at the NCB HQ office in the Ballard Estate area at 12 noon and left shortly after 6 PM. She was escorted by police personnel.
NCB Deputy Director General (south-west region) Mutha Ashok Jain told reporters outside the agency’s office later that Rhea will be called again on Monday for questioning and recording of her statement like today.
He said the agency also conducted fresh raids in this case against a man identified as Anuj Keshvani after his name came to the fore during the interrogation of Kaizan Ebrahim who was arrested by the agency in this case earlier.
“We have seized 590 gms of hashish, 0.64 gm of LSD sheets, 304 gms of marijuana including imported marijuana joints and capsules, Rs 1,85,200 in cash and 5,000 Indonesian Rupiah after the raids on Keshvani,”‘ Jain said.
“The quantity of LSD that has been recovered is commercial quantity under the NDPS Act,” he said indicating it is an offence to keep such quantity of banned drugs.
LSDor Lysergic acid diethylamide is a hallucinogenic drug. The DDG refused to share details of the ongoing investigation. “I cannot tell you specifics… because of your (media) cooperation we are getting a lot of information,” Jain said when asked by reporters about Rhea’s statement made to the agency.
The day started with an NCB team visiting Rhea’s home in Santa Cruz (west) to serve summons to her for joining the probe. The agency has said that once Rhea deposes, it wants to confront her with her younger brother Showik Chakraborty (24), Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda (33) and his house staffer Dipesh Sawant to ascertain their roles in this alleged drug racket after it obtained mobile phone chat records and other electronic data that suggested some banned drugs were allegedly procured by these people.
