Government of Odisha aims to bring economy back on track

Bhubaneswar, August 27, 2020 – Covid-19 impacted economic activities in the state due to nation-wide lockdown, the State is putting its best effort to bring the economy back on track. The Government of Odisha gears up to drive the industrial activity and employment generation in the state.

The 189th State Level Facilitation Cell (SLFC)meeting was conducted through video conferencing today with nodal officers from different industries and assessed the proposals. These proposals spread across Cement, Tourism & Hotel Industries sectors etc. The state has also focused on creating industry-ready infrastructure and making available skilled workforce for the industry. The pandemic has posed new challenges for businesses worldwide but on a positive note it has also provided opportunities to diversify, collaborate, reimagine and reinvent businesses without boundaries.

Even due to the alarming Covid-19 subsequent lockdown across the country, the Department of Industries, Government of Odisha has been operating as usual to maintain promotion of all-round industrial development of the State by generating employment, attract investments and become instrumental in the economic development of the State.

As India remains concerned about the economic impact of Covid-19, Odisha is moving ahead with investment plans to shield the state from extreme economic suffering due to the deadly pandemic. ENDS
