Coronavirus patients require timely meals so that they can take their medicines on time. “We have been given the time of 8am for breakfast, 11:30 am for lunch and 5:30 pm for dinner. by the corporation. We make the food packets ready on time. The responsibility of delivering the packets to the centres has been accepted by the corporation,” said Pankaj Thakur, vice-president, Jeevdani Trust.
The patients have cried foul at the unruly system since due to the social distancing norms, even their relatives cannot take food to the centres.
Questions have been raised over reliability and work efficiency of the VVMC and its Commissioner, Gangatharan D. The commissioner has been mired in controversies throughout the pandemic outbreak. Shoddy work in meal distribution has only added to the miseries of the VVMC municipal commissioner. ENDS
