Actor Kubra Sait, Pooja Gor, Raj Singh Arora, Shruti Seth, Simple Kaul, singer Benny Dayal, famous poet Yahya Bootwala, made their way to say goodbye to the trio MasterChef Australia judges at Estella Juhu last night!

MUMBAI, 12th DECEMBER 2019, (GPN): Food does not discriminate – it is a universal experience! And, in taking this experience to unprecedented heights, Star World, home to the world’s biggest cooking franchise in the country – MasterChef, hosted a grand soirée in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

In Mumbai, the event took place at the breezy seaside turf of Estella, Juhu, replete with a sumptuous 5-course meal and a delectable wine pairing affair that was brought to attendees by pouring partner, Jacob’s Creek. The occasion also signified an important milestone in the course of MasterChef history – the exit of judges Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris, the trio that made MasterChef a global phenomenon.

The evening commenced with the presentation of an exquisite menu for the evening, one that was wholly dedicated to the judges. It comprised some of George, Gary and Matt’s favourite dishes from the show that was expressly curated by Sandeep Pandit, who was not only one of the top 5 contests on the 11th season of MasterChef Australia but was also one of the judges’ favourites. In knowing their tastes and having interacted with them throughout the season, the talented chef pieced the entire menu together and attendees were seen indulging in the delicacies that were laid out for them.

The menu consisted of Roasted Artichoke Soup, with delicious appetizers like George Calombaris’ inspired Pumpkin & Pine Nut Tortelli En Brodo & Nut Tortellini. Gary Mehigan’s well-loved fish reincarnation – Kolkata Barramundi with mysterious sauces and spices was also served making the venue an exquisite food heaven. The seaside feast culminated with scrumptious mini profiteroles filled with strawberry chianti cream and fruits.

Popular actors like Kubra Sait, Pooja Gor, Raj Singh Arora, singer Benny Dayal, famous poet and spoken word artist Yahya Bootwala, and chef Munaf Kapadia, graced the occasion as a symbol of their love and appreciation towards the world-renowned judges. It was also a mini ‘Shararat’ re-union with celebrities Shruti Seth and Simple Kaul also making their way to the gathering.

Commenting on this joyous occasion, the Culinary Director of Estella, Rohan Dsouza, said “MasterChef Australia is a TV show which has enabled chefs like us to expand our bandwidth of experimenting with global food. The show has expanded customer’s perception and given way to appreciating innovative food and experimental flavors. This motivates chefs to push their creative boundaries since they know that they have an appreciating and understanding audience to feed. This is my perception on what MasterChef Australia has contributed to Indian food experience.”

That’s not it! Food wastage has always been a cause close to the show and the judges’ hearts. In taking from this, Star World initiated the ‘GOOD in Goodbye’ campaign that enabled people from across the country to donate the meals via the channel Twitter handle. All they needed to do was retweet and leave a comment #StarWorldGoodInGoodbye. With each comment, Star World, in partnership with The Robin Hood Army, donated meals on their behalf. At the venues in Mumbai and Delhi, the channel put up LIVE boards showcasing the retweet and comment numbers to the attendees to celebrate the good that everyone had contributed towards.

An all-immersive gourmet dining experience in an elegantly designed setting together with the attendees, the most mouthwatering dishes from the show and a divine ambience created a gastronomic extravaganza like no other. Marking a momentous occasion, the magnificent affair was the perfect sendoff by Star World to the loved judges – Matt, Gary and George!
