MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 15^th, 2019 (GPN) : P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC celebrated the international “Quality and Safety week” from November 11th to November 15th, 2019. The event was aimed at evolving the approach of employee engagement and development with a focus on enhancing quality and safety at the hospital.To mark this occasion and in order to create awareness amongst the staff member various seminars, awareness programs and activities were arranged. The hospital has been organizing the event for the last four years.

The purpose of observing the Quality & Safety Week is to keep the employees updated about the on-going advancements in the industry on a practical and theoretical front. The week-long celebration allowed all the members of the organization to gather at a common platform to share their ideas and suggestions which will further help the hospital in improvising and serving the patients better.

Mr. Joy Chakraborty, COO, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC expressed, “P.D Hinduja Hospital believes in providing quality healthcare to all, which would not have been possible without the support of the employees working tirelessly towards it. The purpose of this initiative is to create awareness amongst the members in the organization that will help them to stay focused in accomplishing the hospital’s goal at large. The activities conducted during the week allows every individual in the organization to share and gain knowledge with a blend of fun added to it. It also helps us have a better understanding on way to make changes and developments to provide quality care to our patients”.  

The event had an interesting lineup of initiatives & activities to create awareness among the members included:

• Following color-coded themed attires during the week
• WHO Patient safety awareness courses conducted by the QAI
• Handmade display posters/models showcased in various departments regarding Quality and Safety
• Fun activities like games, photo booths, treasure hunt, quiz, curating slogans, meme contests, and spreading awareness through WhatsApp profile pictures
• Training, quality sessions, and mock drills were conducted for healthcare and allied professionals
• Improvement project sessions were conducted to seek suggestions from the employees to imply them in the organization
• Eminent speakers from the Industry participated in a Panel discussion and Interactive Sessions targeted to create awareness about Quality and Safety in Healthcare

• Mr. Boffin a mascot handing over handouts to in-patients and visitors.

On November 15, 2019, the final day of Quality & Safety Week, P.D. Hinduja Hospital organized talks by eminent speakers from the healthcare industry and also panel discussions. The panel was moderated by Mr. Joy Chakraborty, COO, P.D Hinduja Hospital & MRC and consisted of eminent personalities from the Healthcare, Quality and Consultancy services like Dr. Sanjay Oak, CEO Prince Aly Khan Hospital, Dr. Avinash Supe, Executive Director, Hinduja Healthcare Surgical, Mr. Gautam Khanna, CEO P.
