DocsApp Unveils Awareness Video In The Interest Of World Mental Health Day!

~Aligns with WHO India’s ‘40seconds’ theme~

~ Focused video about suicide and suicide prevention~

~Encourages people to #BaatTohKaro and express their health issues~

NATIONAL, 16th OCTOBER 2019 (GPN): This World Mental Health Day, in alignment with the theme of WHO India- 40seconds, DocsApp launched its focused digital video with an objective to raise awareness of the scale of suicide and the role that each of us can play to help prevent it.

The theme 40seconds is based on the fact that close to 8,00,000 people die every year due to suicide, which is one person for every 40 seconds. Conceptualised in-house by the online doctor consultation platform, the video seamlessly blends a layered narrative about how talking is the first step to getting help. #BaatTohKaro. The thought-provoking video aims to sensitise Indians about how very often, we tend to overlook our mental wellbeing.

Suicides are preventable and a lot can be done to prevent them at an individual, community and national level. The most important factor being encouraging individuals to be open about their issues as not talking is the biggest barrier to achieving healthy mental well-being.

Satish Kannan, CEO, DocsApp said: “Suicides & suicide attempts are a tragedy that affects our families & communities and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind. With this initiative, we want to empower people to talk with confidence about their mental health problems.”

This video is inspired by the mindset and dedication of creating a community where individuals can talk instead of enduring in silence. With this initiative for spreading suicide awareness, DocsApp takes another step in fostering an environment for people to speak about health problems, be it physical or mental. #BaatTohKaro.
