MUMBAI, 24 SEPTEMBER, 2019 (GPN) By Moin Shekh :The partially-collapsed Bhola building in Khar has been evacuated and residents have been advised to make alternate arrangements, till plans for the building’s demolition are finalised.
Nearly two dozen people were rescued from the collapse site in Khar by the NDRF and fire brigade including 10-year-old Mahi Motvani.After an operation of over two hours, NDRF, Mumbai police and firefighters were able to successfully rescue the girl identified as Mahi Motvani. She has been sent to Lilavati, but declared dead on arrival before getting admitted.
Dog squads being used to look for injured people in debris Dog squads of the Mumbai Police have been rushed to the spot to look for injured people stuck in the debris of the building collapse in Mumbai’s Khar west, Bhola Building 13th Road, opp khar Gymkhana. Our news reporter Moin Shekh reached the spot at 5pm. The building collapsed around 1pm.The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) plunged in to action soon thereafter.
Four fire engines along with rescue vans, an ambulance and policemen also came to the rescue
According to the locals, repair and renovation work was under way in the ground-plus-five-storey Bhole Apartment at the time of the incident.ENDS
