Wockhardt Hospitals Mumbai Central to help Mumbai’s Ganesh pandals’ volunteers to tackle medical emergencies

~250 volunteers from Mumbai’s more than 50 leading Ganesh pandals will be given Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training~

The hospital will also felicitate Ganesh pandals for carrying out welfare activities and first aid kits will be distributed~

1565941548876_IMG_4876Mumbai, 16 August, 2019 (GPN) :  Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav is the biggest celebration in the city, as many people across India and the world participate in it. Since it is one of the most prominent festivals of the city, many people are on a pandal-hopping spree. In a view of this, Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central has come up with a unique initiative to provide  Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training to 250 volunteers from more than 50 leading Ganesh pandals in Mumbai. This will help pandals to deal with medical emergencies during the 10-day festival of Ganeshotsav.

Ganeshotsav which is celebrated with much pomp and fervour in Mumbai is around the corner.  Amidst all the hustle and bustle, the chances of medical emergencies are high during pandal-hopping. To help the pandals and devotees deal with health wows during Ganeshotsav, Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central has up its sleeves to provide training of CPR and BLS techniques which will be helpful for someone with cardiac arrest. These techniques would play an effective role in saving the patient through the golden hour, in case one suffers from cardiac arrest.

Dr. Parag Rindani, Head of Hospital Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central said, “Ganesh festival is the biggest event in Mumbai, and people from all over the country and the world participate in it. During these 10 days, there is a lot of rush and chances of medical emergencies are high. To help the Ganesh pandals cope with the medical emergencies, Wockhardt Hospitals will give Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training to 250 volunteers from more than 50 leading Ganesh Pandals of Mumbai.”

Ganesh pandals like Lalbaug Sarvajanik utsav mandal Ganesh Galli, Kalachowki Vibhag Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal (Mahaganpati), Chinchpokli Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal’s (Chintamani), Fort cha Raja Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal, Tejukai Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Trust, and Tardeo Sarvajanik Utsav Mandal (Tardeocha Maharaja) will be prepared to handle medical emergencies.

Dr. Rindani said, “Likewise, these pandals are involved in many social and welfare activities like organizing blood donation camps, raising awareness regarding various health ailments and distributing books to needy children. As a token of gratitude Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central felicitated these pandals and first aid kits were also distributed. Wockhardt Hospitals is determined to help people live a disease-free life and make sure that it organizes various activities and camps to spread awareness regarding healthcare.”
