Drunken Monkey collaborates with FIAPO and pledges to include 80% Vegan Options by June 2020”

MUMBAI, 20th AUGUST, 2019 (GPN) :  Drunken Monkey , a responsible QSR (Quick Service Restaurants)   collaborated with the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) towards a groundbreaking step of inclusion of vegan options of about 80% by June 2020.

Drunken Monkey has 78 outlets around India and is looking at expanding to 150 outlets by the end of 2019. And this change will be effective for all their branches mid-year 2020.

This collaboration is part of FIAPO’s corporate engagement campaign to encourage businesses to use cruelty-free ingredients. It is a huge step towards a positive and sustainable future by a brand of the stature of The Drunken Monkey.

A report by the United Nations (UN) said that a global shift to plant-based diet is essential to save the planet from world hunger and worst impacts of climate change. As the world population is estimated to be a 9.1 billion by 2050, diets rich in meat and dairy products are unsustainable, says the report from United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) international panel of sustainable resource management. This move by Drunken Monkey is absolutely commendable.

The answer to all of this is ‘Vegan’. Mr. Reddy and the Drunken Monkey Team embraced this information with genuine interest to make a difference.”

In the past few months, FIAPO has tied up with brands like Menchie’s, Fruktville and Bakeshop for inclusion of vegan options in their menu for health and environmental reasons.
