MUMBAI, 5 JUNE, 2025 (GPN/ SANJAY GIRI)- On the occasion of World Environment Day, the grand park and modern sports complex at Chandivali Sangharsh Nagar was inaugurated and the Raksha Plantation Program was completed by MLA Dilip (Mama) Lande in the presence of Municipal Corporation officials.

A ‘tree planting’ program was organized on Thursday, June 5, 2025, to mark the ‘inauguration’ of a beautifully landscaped park and a magnificent, modern sports complex on the reserved land of the Municipal Corporation in Chandivali Sangharshnagar, thanks to the tireless efforts of Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande from the Chandivali assembly constituency, and to coincide with World Environment Day.

On this occasion, the officers of the Municipal Corporation, Circle 5 Deputy Commissioner Devidas Kshirsagar, L Division Assistant Commissioner Herlekar, Sakinaka Police Station Senior Police Inspector Pramod Tawde, Municipal Corporation Deputy Park Superintendent Sunil Rathod, Assistant Engineer (Conservation) (P) Deepak Chougule, Assistant Park Superintendent Mahesh Ernak as well as retired police officer Chandrakant Puri, Sub-Division Head Sagar Tulskar, Women’s Sub-Division Head Palwatai Branch Head Suvasini Sawant Tai, Youth Sub-Division Head Kaustubh Betkar, Shiv Sainik Doctor Ravindra Maske, Milind Jadhav as well as all Shiv Sainik Branch No. 157 office bearers, Sub-Division Heads, Group Heads as well as Dadu Bhosale of RPI, office bearers of various communities in Sankalp Nagar and office bearers of the complex were present in large numbers.

Addressing the people present at the inauguration ceremony, Assistant Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, L Department, Dhanaji Herlekar said that today’s program is important and various trees are being planted in this ground by organizing a protection planting campaign on Environment Day. These trees will be grown next year.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Zone 5, Devidas Kshirsagar, said that Lande Mama worked hard to create this garden. Through his efforts and as per the instructions, the Municipal Corporation has created this garden and we hope that the residents will take proper care of it.

MLA Dilip Lande, who inaugurated the park, said, “The aim was to make Sangharsh Nagar a beautiful city. For that, development work has to be done. Those works are being done here through my efforts. Hospitals, water, roads, parks and playgrounds have been made available. Now it is the responsibility of the residents here to maintain this park and everyone should take care of the trees planted today and keep them alive.”
