MUMBAI, 20 MAY, 2025 (GPN)— “Social institutions came together on a platform of thought and action to strengthen the institutions that build society!” The ‘Social Institutions Empowerment Seminar’ program with the following content and objective was held very successfully at Param Keshav Bagh, Ghatkopar West.
The seminar was jointly organized by two leading organizations, Dev Desh Pratishthan and Vivek Spark Foundation. Important topics like management of social organizations, legal procedures, fundraising, responsibility of trustees and tax structure of trusts were discussed in depth in the seminar. The program began with inspiring cultural performances by Shahir Swapnil Shirsat, Shahir Dhammadas Arvel.
In the inaugural session, Dr. Vaibhav Devgirkar gave an introductory speech and inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. After that, Ali paid tribute to the civilians who died in Pahalgam and the Indian Army personnel who were martyred during Operation Sindoor, followed by church and guidance sessions. Mahesh Pohnerkar and other experts learned about the problems faced by social organizations.
Shriram Patwardhan presented effective thoughts on the topic of “Role and Responsibilities of Trustees”. This session was coordinated by Anil Galgali. Jayant Phalke provided useful guidance for organizations on the topic of “Regulation and Tax Structure”. Adv. Samadhan Sule and CA Santosh Kulkarni coordinated this session. In the session “Effective Methods of Fundraising” coordinated by Adv. Anarya Pawar, Shri. Patwardhan provided important information on donations, CSR, and public relations techniques. In the expert panel discussion that followed, the participating organizations directly interacted with the experts by asking questions.
Four organizations that have done remarkable work for the society were honored in this symposium: (First Prize: Vasundhara Sanjeevani Mandal, Thane, Second Prize: Siddhi Mahila Kalyankari Sanstha, Mumbai, Third Prize: Kranti Sangharsh Trust, Mumbai, Encouragement Prize: Swarajya Mitra Mandal, Mumbai).
These awards have infused new energy and inspiration into the work of social organizations. The program concluded with the National Anthem and vote of thanks by Dr. Vaibhav Devgirkar. More than 200 organization representatives, experts and youth activists participated in this symposium. Shri Prashant Badhe and all the members of Ghatkopar Pragati Manch worked day and night for this entire program and contributed greatly. This symposium, which has been a guide and inspiration towards strengthening social organizations, will be recognized as an important step towards future social change.
