1. Nagaland Police has issued an alert about a malicious APK file named “PM Kisan Yojana”, which is reportedly being circulated within the state.
2. Days after the Kolkata hotel fire that claimed the lives of 14 people, the KMC on Friday ordered the closure of all rooftop restaurants in the city. Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor and Municipal Affairs and Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim said.
3. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched multiple premises linked with gangster Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Passian, across Punjab. Harpreet Singh is connected with Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh, alias Rinda.
4. The Union law ministry has ordered the transfer of seven high court judges, including four from Karnataka HC to Gujarat, Orissa, Kerala, and Madras HCs. Seven new permanent judges were appointed to the Gujarat HC, increasing its strength to 39. Allahabad HC has the highest number of vacancies, with 72 posts vacant out of a sanctioned strength of 160.
5. The Delhi high court on Friday directed the Indian Consulate in Indonesia to take urgent steps to ensure proper legal representation and assistance for three Indian nationals sentenced to death by an Indonesian court.
The court also instructed the consulate to help facilitate communication between the convicted men and their families in India.
6. Assam’s chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has intensified his criticism of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, alleging that Gogoi’s children are not Indian citizens. Sarma also questioned Gogoi’s purported 15-day visit to Pakistan, insinuating suspicious activities.

PM Modi recently inaugurated the WAVES 2025, (01 May 2025) India’s first-of-its-kind World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai.
WAVES 2025 witness participation from over 90 countries, with more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350+ startups.
WAVES 2025 is a four-day summit with tagline “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries” is poised to position India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation by bringing together creators, startups, industry leaders, and policymakers from across the world.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan said, there are not enough movie screens in India as only 2% of the population or roughly 3 crore people, watch the biggest hits in theatres. 3. The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a landmark flypast and landing exercise on a specially engineered 3.5-kilometer stretch of the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district. This event marked the inauguration of India’s first expressway airstrip designed to support both day and night operations of fighter aircraft, setting a new benchmark in civil-military infrastructure integration.
4. On 01 May 2025, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh assumed charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Training Command of the Indian Air Force. On the same day, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit took over as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), and Lt Gen Pratik Sharma assumed command as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command of the Indian Army.
