The Reflection of Mind, At Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, From 21st to 27th April, 2025
MUMBAI, 20 APRIL, 2025 (GPN): Group exhibition of Painting by 3 reputed Artist Rajib Sur Roy, Subrata Ghosh, Joydev Bala from Kolkata will be held at Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery, 161 B, M. G. Road, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai from 21st to 27th April, 2025 between 11 am to 7 pm.
Artist Rajib Sur Roy is known primarily for his pre-occupation with Krishna and his consort, Radha. A major portion of his work (Both Sculpture & Painting) tries to unravel the ‘Leela’ in the idylls of Brindavan. Through this sculptures and paintings one gets to comprehend the working of the artist’s mind and in all of them we can see his constant search for the meaning of divine love or ‘Prema rasa’. Alongside that is his quest for ‘Bhakti rasa’ as symbolized by his flute amidst a verdant backdrop. Ganesha too has been among Sri Rajib Sur Roy’s artistic explorations. The siddhi mantra finds expression in his paintings. Benevolent images of Lord Ganesha form a small but significant part of his collection of artworks. This painting moves a step further from the aforementioned Krishna. It is an attempt to show that the microcosm and the microcosm are indeed one. For this he borrows from the Bhagwad Gita and integrate it into Einstein’s theory and relativity.
Artist Subrata Ghosh’s oeuvre embodies the concept of idyllic tranquility, as he creates a sense of timelessness through the utilization of layered hues. His work is steeped in the tradition of Indian classical Painting, with its focus on the divine beauty of Ajanta figuration and Gupta Sculptures This influence is evident in his acute attention to the use of light and shade, as he employs a range of cream, yellow and grey tones to evoke a serene, idyllic atmosphere. Ghosh is a graduate of the Indian college of Art and craft in Kolkata and primarily works in acrylic on canvas. His distinct style is characterized by its lateral symmetry and bold, colorful splashes. Subrata Ghosh has showcased his work at prestigious venues like Academy of Fine Arts, Taj Bengal and ICCR with solo & group exhibitions across Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Goa and Bangladesh. He has also participated in International art camps.
Artist Joydev Bala is professional Painter in Kolkata. After passing out from the Indian college of Art and Draftsmanship under Rabindra Bharati University College in 2000. He is still alive with his artwork (Painting). In creating his artworks, showing environmental awareness in lifestyle, loving society, protecting the green, de-polluting the beautiful environment of the earth, not wasting water and maintaining communal harmony have repeatedly been expressed. He uses flowers and birds as decorations in his paintings. He is continue to try his painting scientifically. His artworks have lines, textures, a style of his own and an Indian feel to his paintings. To date He have held around 21 Solo exhibitions and over 200 group exhibition. Also, He have been able to do many exhibitions and art workshops in the presence of many good people in the country and abroad.
