In the Legislative Assembly (LA), Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel said that the problem of traffic congestion in Andheri East has become serious and to solve it, it is necessary to urgently complete the pending works, especially the problems created due to the closure of 12 DP roads. Patel brought to the attention of the government.

Patel, while requesting the government, said that a definite timetable should be submitted by the two major authorities, SRA and BMC, and since this issue is of a very serious nature, the government should officially guarantee the time.

Also, immediate orders should be given to the top officials to ensure that the project does not get bogged down in administrative processes. This issue has become a serious hindrance not only to transportation but also to emergency services.Ambulances do not arrive on time, firefighters arrive late, and citizens’ daily commutes are extended by hours.

The journey from Marol to Andheri station, which used to take just a few minutes, has become a two-hour struggle. Today’s decision by the Minister to change this situation is historic.Concrete steps are being taken towards fulfilling the promise made to Patel to resolve the traffic congestion in Andheri East. The Minister took immediate cognizance of the matter, responded positively and took important decisions.

The work includes the rehabilitation of slums on 12 DP roads, a total of 550 rehabilitation houses approved under SRA, 100 houses approved today, the rest will be made available in phases throughout the year, and the Municipal Corporation and SRA Department have been ordered to complete the work within a specified time for implementation.

Reacting further, the Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel said that the Mahayuti government expressed its heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Andheri for taking immediate cognizance of this traffic congestion issue and taking initiatives on important decisions.
