
PM Modi alongwith State Leaders of Shiv Sena, NCP, BJP and other key Minister’s and Governor lays the foundation worth Rs 7,600
MUMBAI, 10 OCTOBER, 2024 (GPN): Prime minister Narendra Modi, essentially laid the foundation for many development projects in Maharashtra which are expected to cost over Rs 7,600 crore. The Prime Minister unveiled ten new government medical colleges in Maharashtra and virtually opened the Indian Institute of Skills Mumbai and Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Mumbai, Nashik, Jalna, Amravati, Gadchiroli, Buldhana, Washim, Bhandara, Hingoli, and Ambernath (Thane) are the locations of the medical colleges.
Addressing a video conference, he laid the foundation of Nagpur’s new-look Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and state new integrated terminal building at Shirdi airport.This terminal is designed to provide world-class facilities for the influx of religious tourists visiting Shirdi.
Total estimated cost for the Nagpur based Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport is around Rs 7,000 crore. This will help Nagpur city and overall vidarbha region by creating a boosting effect in several segments like manufacturing, aviation, tourism, logistics, and health care. For religious tourists, the new integrated terminal building at Shirdi Airport, which is expected to be constructed at a cost of Rs 645 crore, would offer top-notch amenities and services.
Lastly, the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) of Maharashtra was also launched, providing students, teachers, and administrators with access to crucial academic and administrative data through innovative tools like live chatbots3.
These projects underscore the government’s commitment to fostering development and improving the quality of life for the people of Maharashtra.
