CM Eknath Shinde Slams the opposition on hypocritical stance

MUMBAI, 28 SEPTEMBER, 2024 (GPN):  Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday took a swipe at the opposition parties over their hypocritical stance on encounter of Akshay Shinde, an accused in Badlapur school sexual assault case and the controversy involving the statue collapse of revered Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Addressing a foundation laying function of late Balasaheb Desai agriculture complex, drinking water scheme and unveiling of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue at Patan in the district this evening, he accused the opposition of adopting a contradictory stand on Akshay Shinde’s encounter, saying that at first they demanded to hang accused but after police encounter, they are asking why did the police encounter him.
“This stand of opposition is hypocritical, and people will ‘encounter’ opposition parties for their double standards in upcoming state assembly election,” he remarked.
Shinde claimed that after he became the Chief Minister, he has succeeded in taking the state to number one rank in just six months.
He assured that another life-sized statue of beloved Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be installed at Rajkot fort in Malvan of the Sindhudurg district before the ‘Shiv Jayanti’ (Shivaji’s birth anniversary) next year, in place of collapsed one.
CM Shinde said to NH that the Balasaheb Desai Multipurpose Agricultural Complex will be named as the best farmer training center in Western Maharashtra
Further during a local event in Nashik for the unveiling of Balasaheb Thackeray Smriti Udyan in the Gangapur Road area CM Shinde has guaranteed freehold status for all houses developed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) in Nashik city. He directed CIDCO Chairman Sanjay Shirsat to draft the necessary proposal and seek approval for the initiative.
In Nashik city, over 50,000 residential and commercial properties developed by CIDCO were leased to residents approximately 40 to 50 years ago. For many years, residents in the CIDCO area have been requesting the state government to convert these properties from leasehold to freehold status.
