MUMBAI, 10 SEPTEMBER, 2024 (GPN): The auditorium at Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Medical College was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar and wife of NCP Chief Ajit Pawar .
Earlier Sunetra Pawar, who contested and lost the Lok Sabha election against Sule, was appointed as a Rajya Sabha MP in an aftermath. Following the government’s decision to invite Sunetra Pawar for the inauguration without mentioning or inviting senior leaders like Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, Sule expressed her displeasure and shared the inauguration banner on social media, pointing it out to the CM Shinde and questioning the breach of protocol.
Baramati Member of Parliament and NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule has raised concerns with chief minister Eknath Shinde over protocol not being followed during the inauguration of development works in Baramati.
On the development, Sule expressed her dissatisfaction on social media, stating, “The auditorium was inaugurated on Tuesday, but the banner for the event did not include the names of Sharad Pawar, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, and myself. As per protocol, the names of all these representatives should have been included. Moreover, we were not even invited to the programme.”
Maharashtra cabinet minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal on Monday said that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar would contest the upcoming assembly polls from Baramati, his family bastion in Pune.Chhagan Bhujbal’s remarks came a day after Pawar suggested Baramati should get a new MLA so that the constituency’s voters realise his importance.
Bhujbal asserted, “Ajit Pawar is our captain. He can not put down weapons like this. He will contest from the Baramati assembly constituency and win with a huge margin.”
Speaking at a gathering in Baramati, Ajit Pawar on Sunday remarked that despite undertaking extensive development works in the constituency, voters did not support him during the recent Lok Sabha elections, where his wife Sunetra was pitted against Sule. Sunetra Pawar lost the elections to Sule by more than 1.50 lakh votes.
