NATIONAL, MUMBAI, PUNE, 6^th AUGUST, 2024 (GPN): Over 2000 students across 8 schools from Maharashtra’s Pune district have benefitted from the “LearnByDoing” initiative. This initiative, by Sakar Eduskills, provides STEM kits to underprivileged students to encourage hands-on learning and better scientific understanding. Many organizations have supported the cause and this time, it was the Abhay Bhutada Foundation. 

What is the “LearnByDoing” Initiative?

It can be defined as an initiative that aims to make science and math education accessible and fun for the underprivileged students. It ensures that complex concepts are taught engagingly so that these students not only learn but also develop a love for these subjects.

LearnByDoing’s goal is to have a world where every kid has access to scientific knowledge. By giving practical experience and experimenting opportunities through STEM kits, it is nurturing curiosity and innovation in young minds.

The Reach of the Initiative

With the help of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, the initiative has delivered STEM kits across 8 schools in Bursewadi, Kelgaon, Dhanore, Bahul, Thakarwadi, Bhose, Malegaon, and Sangise have benefitted. These schools got such kits for the first time, and this made the students even more excited about learning.

The Impact of the Initiative

One of the staff members from a school in Kelgaon expressed gratitude to Abhay Bhutada for donating these kits. He pointed out that with the help of these kits, students will now have a better understanding of science. They can now understand complex concepts in a simple way.

A student of class 7 from one of the schools shared his experience with these kits. He said that the kit helped them get a proper understanding of the human body. Apart from that, the kit also had a periscope and a microscope. Through the microscope, the students were able to see minute elements under it, something that they enjoyed thoroughly.

Preparing Young Minds for the Future

By providing STEM kits to young minds, the foundation is taking steps toward making scientific education available for all. It will not only develop curiosity among students but also give incentive to underprivileged parents to send their children to government schools.

With the support of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation and others like it, the “LearnByDoing” initiative has impacted the lives of many students. These kits give a chance to those students who don’t have the resources to be on par with everyone else.
