NATIONAL, MUMBAI, 24 JULY, 2024 (GPN): The much-anticipated fifth season of Bigg Boss Marathi is set to commence soon, with the ‘Lay Bhari’ actor Riteish Deshmukh taking on the role of host.

Mark your calendars, as the wait is finally over! The grand premiere of Bigg Boss Marathi is all set for July 28 at 9 pm. With 100 days of jaw-dropping contestant fights and intensifying drama, the Bigg Boss house will undoubtedly be buzzing with fun, drama, and craziness.

This announcement was done at a Promo Event held at Hotel JW Marriot, Sahar in Mumbai on Monday 22 July and has generated significant excitement among fans, especially following the release of Riteish’s promo, which has already become a hit. Comparisons are being drawn between Riteish and other prominent hosts such as Salman Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Anil Kapoor. In a recent press conference, Riteish Deshmukh addressed the question of whether he would have liked to enter Bigg Boss himself.Bigg Boss Marathi Season 5 hasn’t officially announced its cast yet, but there are plenty of rumours circulating that social media personality Ankita Walawalkar better known online as Kokan Hearted Girl is one among the contestants.

Speaking to ‘GPN’ he revealed that he had never been offered a spot as a contestant on the show. He mentioned, “100 days is a very big commitment. It is as much commitment as for two films. It is not easy. If I would have liked to go, yes, of course, I would have liked.”

Ritesh Deshmukh said, “I am a huge Bigg Boss fan. So, when I was asked about hosting the show, I said yes without any hesitation. I feel lucky that Colors Marathi trusted me as a Bigg Boss host. This year’s Bigg Boss is completely different. I don’t even know who the contestants are, and I haven’t even asked the channel about it.”

Speaking about the show, Colors Marathi programming head Kedar Shinde said, “Bigg Boss Marathi is Colors Marathi’s big-ticket show, and it is returning after two years. It marks the beginning of a new era for Colors Marathi, where novelty will be the buzzword to take the channel to new heights.”

“We have given Riteish Deshmukh, the Bollywood and Marathi industry’s favourite superstar, the hosting responsibility of the show. Rest assured, this new season will be grander and more vibrant. This season will see contestants from different fields and different parts of the state. Their talent and popularity will take this season to new heights, for sure,” he added.

Earlier, the makers of the show released a promotional clip on the official Instagram handle of Colors Marathi, taking the anticipation up a notch higher. Promising more fun and entertainment, Riteish, in the clip, declares to the viewers, “Now that I am here, expect more fun and craziness.”

Actors such as Mansi Naik, Ankita Walawalkar, Sanju Rathod, and Pranav Ravrane are expected to appear in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 5. Fans are eagerly anticipating seeing Riteish Deshmukh in the role of host. While Salman Khan has created a unique craze with his hosting of Bigg Boss Hindi, Anil Kapoor’s hosting in Bigg Boss OTT has also gained popularity with the audience. Mahesh Manjrekar’s hosting in the previous seasons of Bigg Boss Marathi won the hearts of viewers as well. This sets up a significant challenge for Riteish as he steps into the hosting role.
