Volunteers from Isha Foundation Lead Nationwide Cleanliness Drive on Earth Day, Promote Save Soil Movement

MUMBAI, 22 APRIL, 2024 (GPN): On World Earth Day on Monday, volunteers from Isha Foundation carried out a cleanliness drive in 22 locations around India. As part of this year’s theme of Earth Day 2024, “Planet vs Plastics,” volunteers collected plastic waste from various locations in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Besides cleaning up plastic waste, this initiative also served as a platform to educate the people about the pressing issue of soil degradation and the urgent need for action as advocated by the Save Soil Movement.

Posting on Social Media X on the occasion, Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation said, “Every extra leaf we put back on this planet will lead to healthier soil. The best thing we can do for Earth right now is to #SaveSoil because soil is the Foundation of Life on Earth. Healthy soil=Healthy planet – a cooler Earth, food & water abundance and thriving biodiversity. Let’s make it happen. -Sg
