NATIONAL, JANUARY 13, 2022 (GPN): On January 11, the Karnataka High Court had ordered status quo following a public interest litigation against the construction alleging that it had violated various rules and laws related to forests and land acquisition.
On Friday, the advocate for the Isha Yoga Centre approached the division bench of Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale and Ashok S Kingai and submitted that the inauguration of the centre was scheduled for January 15 which will be attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and other dignitaries.
The bench taking into account the urgency pressed into said “As scheduled programmed is at a distance of one day the interim order may cause some prejudice to R16. As such considering the above referred facts, we clarify that our order dated January 11, will not come in the way of R16, for the scheduled function of January 15.”
Senior Advocate Udaya Holla appearing for the Centre submitted that the function scheduled on January 15 is likely to be attended by certain high level dignitaries and day and time is fixed as per the convenience of the dignitaries. The consent of dignitaries was sought for this particular date and time much prior to filing of petition.
The hearing of the case was adjourned to February 2 with a note of caution that its January 11 order of status quo will continue to be in operation till the next date.Ends
