National Equestrian Championship for Eventing concludes in Meerut

Equestrian Federation of India’s calendar of events for 2021-2022 concludes

MumbaiMay 2, 2022 (GPN): The National Equestrian Championship (NEC) for Eventing conducted by the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) at the RVC Centre & College, Meerut concluded today. The event marks the last competitive event in the federation’s calendar as the riding season closes with the onset of summer. EFI has successfully conducted all the events as per the calendar schedule.

As part of the riding calendar, EFI had also conducted selection trials for the upcoming 19th Asian Games to be held in September this year at Hangzhou, China. The federation is in the process of finalising the selection and names of athletes who will represent the country will be announced shortly.

Lt Col MM Rahman, Joint Secretary, Equestrian Federation of India said, “I would like to congratulate all the athletes, organising committees of various events, the jury members and support staff for the wonderful performance and support which has contributed to a successful and prosperous season. The increasing level of competition and quality of both riders and horses are testament to yet another successful year in the development of equestrian sports in the country. As we look forward to the next riding season, the Equestrian Federation of India will continue on its mission to encourage, improve and promote all aspects of equestrian sports to enable Indian riders to compete successfully at the highest level.”

Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) was constituted in 1967 as a governing body for Equestrian sports and is a recognized National Sports Federation (NSF) by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) and Indian Olympic Association.
