11. Mumbai police have arrested a drug peddler in the city and recovered from him MD drug and cash, collectively worth over Rs 24 lakh, Accused Shakeel Qureshi, 50, was caught on Saturday night on J J Road in South Mumbai by the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Ghatkopar and the Azad Maidan unit.

17. In the early hours of Sunday morning, two girls from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), inadvertently crossed into Indian territory in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch sector. Indian troops deployed along the Line of Control having detected the crossing, exercised complete restraint to prevent any harm to the girls, who are residents of village Abbasspur from Tehsil Forward Kahuta.
18. Telugu Actor-turned politician Vijayashanthi has quit the Congress and is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. Vijayashanthi would be the second popular star in the South to join the BJP after Khushbu in Tamil Nadu. Khushbu too had quit Congress and embraced BJP.
19. Veteran Bengali actor Manu Mukherjee dies of cardiac arrest. He was 90 years. In Maharashtra Popular Marathi actor Ravi Patwardhan took his last breath on the morning of December 6. The reason behind the sudden demise of the 83 years old actor is being said heart attack.

🇮🇳Facts about India🇮🇳

Defence Flag Day annually observed on December 7 since 1949. The idea behind observing a Flag Day was to distribute small flags to the general population and in return collect donations. The fund collection is managed throughout the country by the local arms of the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB), which is part of the Ministry of Defence.

On August 28, 1949, a committee was set up under the then Defence Minister of India. The committee decided that Flag Day will be observed annually on December 7. The primary idea behind the Indian Armed Forces Flag Day was to distribute small flags to the civilians and collect donations for the soldiers in return.
