- PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting with Chief Ministers of all States and UTs yesterday via video conferencing, to review the status and preparedness of COVID-19 response and management, with special emphasis on eight high focus States. These States were Haryana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Bengal.
2.’ Delhi Chalo’ protest march: Farmers enter Delhi from Tikri border; Burari ground new epicentre of protest.
- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday made an important announcement for Delhi metro services on November 28 (Saturday). The metro services were disrupted for a few hours at multiple places because of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march by farmers against the Centre’s new farm laws
- Rahul Gandhi welcomes farmers’ entry into Delhi, says ‘Centre must repeal agrarian laws’
- Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Prakash Javadekar has virtually launched the India Climate Change Knowledge Portal yesterday in New Delhi.
- PM Modi will arrive in Hyderabad on Saturday to review the status of India’s first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine — Covaxin — being developed by the city-based Bharat Biotech He is visiting Hyderabad as a part of his three-city tour including Ahmedabad and Pune, to take stock of Covid-19 vaccine development work.
- More than 80000 CRPF personnel pledge their organs donation : The commitment of the Central Reserve Police force to serve the nation even beyond death, led the force personnel to join hands with ORBO and AIIMS Delhi for a massive organ donation campaign-‘e-sanjeevani’.
- Cyclone Nivar has thrown life out of gear in Nellore and Chittoor districts, AP , apart from other districts in the Rayalaseema region. Under the influence of the Cyclone, heavy downpour associated with gale winds uprooted as many as 800 electric poles and 100 odd trees across Nellore district.
- Cyclone Nivar : Centre announces ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to families of deceased in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami announced Rs 10 lakh each to the families of the victims. The cyclone had crossed the coast between Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on November 26 morning but spared the state of very large scale destruction as witnessed during the Gaja cyclone two years ago that crossed the coast between Nagapattinam and Vedaranyam in the south.

- Two Army jawans were killed in a sneak attack by three car-borne militants on Srinagar’s outskirts on Thursday . The police and witnesses said the gunmen appeared at Aban Shah Chowk in Khoshipora area and opened fire on an Army quick reaction team, critically injuring two soldiers. Both succumbed to their injuries while being evacuated to a hospital at the nearby Shariefabad Army cantonment.
- In a first, Bihar’s Purnia Central Jail to install ATM for prisoners to help inmates withdraw money for their daily use . With this, the Purnia Central Jail will become the first prison in Bihar to do so. According to the Purnia Central Jail Superintendent, about 600 inmates out of the total 750 have their accounts in different banks. So far, 400 inmates have been issued ATM cards while the rest would be given ATM cards soon. For 4 to 8 hours of work, the jail inmates are paid between Rs 52 to Rs 103 wages and the money is deposited into their accounts.

- Abetment to suicide case: Supreme court extends Interim bail to Arnab Goswami The Supreme Court on Friday said the interim bail to journalist Arnab Goswami and two others in an abetment to suicide case will continue till the Bombay High Court disposes of their plea, and stated that the judiciary should ensure criminal law does not become a weapon for selective harassment.
- The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Recruitment 2020 For 368 Junior Executive and Managers in Air Traffic Control (ATC), Airport Operations, Technical and Fire Services sections through direct selection to be posted in New Delhi and across Online Application Starts From December 15 onwards and closes on January 14, 2021.
- The Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) has released Indian Air Force Airmen result 2020 for Group X and Y. The Airmen 2020 result was declared for Group X (Except Education Instructor) and Group Y (Except Auto Tech, IAF(P), IAF(S) and Musician Trades). Candidates who have appeared for the examination can check their IAF Airmen results 2020 on the official website – airmenselection.cdac.in.
- Travel agents’ apex body directs members to refund airfares for flights booked during lockdown In a relief to the travellers who had booked their air tickets during the lockdown and are yet to receive refunds, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has directed its members to refund airfares of their customers.
- The Bombay high court on Friday held that demolition carried out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at actor Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow in Mumbai was illegal and smacked of malicious intent. The court appointed an assessor to evaluate the damage caused so as to decide Ranaut’s claim for compensation.
- A MiG-29K fighter jet of the Navy crashed off Goa over the Arabian Sea on Thursday night One of the pilots had been rescued. The search for the other pilot went on through the night and is continuing using helicopters and warships. An inquiry to investigate the incident has been ordered.
- Now, 8-day jail, ₹5K fine for stepping out without mask in Himachal’s Kangra Residents of Kangra can be arrested without warrant, sent to jail for up to eight days or be fined ₹5,000 for not wearing a mask in public places.
- The Haryana health and family welfare department has decided to observe Saturday as ‘Sampling Day’ in the state . As per the proposal, the target would be to conduct a minimum of 50,000 samplings of Covid-19 in a single day, out of which 80% would be RT-PCR and the rest, antigen rapid tests.

- Colombo Hosts India-Maldives-Sri Lanka Maritime Security NSA Trilateral Meeting : Indian National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval is visiting Colombo between November 27 and 28 to take part in the 4th NSA Level Meeting on Trilateral Maritime Security Cooperation hosted by Sri Lanka this time. The first such meeting in six years
- Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday sought India’s continued assistance to boost the bilateral ties as he met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval , who also held talks with the country’s defence secretary to further advance the “valuable” cooperation which contributes to peace and security in the region.
- ISRO and Russian satellites come within 224 meters of each other; India’s Cartosat 2F weighing over 700kg dangerously approached the Kanopus-V spacecraft at 1.49 UTC, on Friday, according to the Russian Space Agency. In a tweet, Roscosmos has said that the minimum distance between both Russian and foreign satellite was 224 meters. Both the satellites are meant for earth’s remote sensing.
- Twelve years after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the United States has announced a reward of up to USD 5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba member Sajid Mir for his “role” in the attacks in Mumbai in 2008.
- On November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists, trained by the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation LeT, carried out a series of coordinated attacks against multiple targets in Mumbai — the Taj Mahal Hotel, the Oberoi Hotel, the Leopold Cafe, the Nariman (Chabad) House, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus — killing 166 people.

- Russia to vaccinate armed forces against Covid-19 as new cases hit daily record : Russia plans to vaccinate more than 400,000 military personnel against Covid-19 , Defence minister Sergei Shoigu said on Friday, as authorities reported a record 27,543 new coronavirus cases.
