आज 18 नवंबर 2020, विक्रम संवत्- 2077 कार्तिक मास के शुक्लपक्ष की चतुर्थी तिथि मूल नक्षत्र धृति योग हेमंत ऋतू दिन वुधवार सूर्योपासना का महापर्व छठ व्रत की शुरुआत आज नहाय-खाय से हो रही है । आप सभी को आज के दिन की ढेरों शुभकामनाएं ।

सूर्योपासना का अनुपम लोकपर्व की शुरुआत देवासुर संग्राम में जब असुरों के हाथों देवता हार गये थे, तब देव माता अदिति ने तेजस्वी पुत्र की प्राप्ति के लिए देवारण्य के देव सूर्य मंदिर में सर्यू की आराधना की थी। तब प्रसन्न होकर सूर्य ने उन्हें सर्वगुण संपन्न तेजस्वी पुत्र होने का वरदान दिया था। इसके बाद अदिति के पुत्र हुए त्रिदेव रूप आदित्य भगवान, जिन्होंने असुरों पर देवताओं को विजय दिलायी। इसी प्रकार द्वापर में पांडव अपना सारा राजपाट जुए में हार गये, तब श्री कृष्ण द्वारा बताये जाने पर द्रौपदी ने छठ व्रत रखा। तब उनकी मनोकामनाएँ पूरी हुईं तथा पांडवों को राजपाट वापस मिला।
सूर्योपासना के लिए कठोर पर्व छठ पारिवारिक सुख-समृद्धी तथा मनोवांछित फल प्राप्ति के लिए यह पर्व मनाया जाता है । सभी व्रतियों को इस महान पर्व की ढेरों शुभकामनाएं ।

8 अप्रैल 1929 को दिल्ली स्थित केंद्रीय विधानसभा में ब्रिटिश सरकार की ओर से पब्लिक सेफ्टी बिल और ट्रेड डिस्प्यूट बिल पर विरोध स्वरूप भगत सिंह के साथ मिलकर बम विस्फोट करने वाले स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के महान क्रान्तिकारी बटुकेश्वर दत्त की आज जयंती है । ब्रिटिश राज्य की तानाशाही का विरोध कर अलख जगाने वाले इस क्रांतिकारी ने कठोर कालापानी की सजा झेली है । अंततः ब्रिटिश गुलामी से मुक्ति के बाद स्थायी रूप से पटना को निवास स्थल बनाने वाले दत्त ने 1963 में बिहार विधानपरिषद के सदस्य बने । 18 नवम्बर 1910 को बंगाली कायस्थ परिवार में ग्राम-ओँयाड़ि, जिला – नानी बेदवान पश्चिमी बंगाल में जन्मे इस क्रांतिकारी का 20 जुलाई 1965 को नई दिल्ली स्थित अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान में हुई। मृत्यु के बाद इनका दाह संस्कार इनके अन्य क्रांतिकारी साथियों- भगत सिंह, राजगुरु एवं सुखदेव की समाधि स्थल पंजाब के हुसैनी वाला में किया गया। मातृभूमि के लिए इस तरह का जज्बा रखने वाले नौजवानों का इतिहास भारतवर्ष के अलावा किसी अन्य देश के इतिहास में उपलब्ध नहीं है। ऐसे महान व्यक्तित्व को उनकी जयंती पर श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित करती हुँ।

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि आज ही के दिन पटना के लिए दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण था जब 1948 में नारायणी स्टीमर दुर्घटना में 500 से अधिक जानें गई थी ।

जवाहर लाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय में आज वर्चुअल दीक्षांत समारोह आयोजित है। कोविड-19 से उपजी स्थिति को देखते हुए यह आयोजन वर्चुअल किया जा रहा है। इस समारोह में राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद मुख्य अतिथि होंगे जबकि केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक अतिथि होंगे। इस वर्ष के दीक्षांत समारोह में 600 से अधिक छात्रों को पीएचडी की डिग्री दी जाएगी।
