1. Govt extends deadline for filing income tax returns by individual taxpayers till Dec 31.
2. Schools in Delhi not opening for now : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said. The government had earlier announced that schools will continue to remain closed till October 31 in view of COVID-19 pandemic. Universities and schools across the country have been closed since March 16, when the Centre announced a countrywide classroom shutdown as part of the measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
3. PM Modi inaugurates three key projects in Gujarat : the ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ for the farmers of Gujarat. He inaugurated the Paediatric Heart Hospital attached with U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre and a Mobile Application for tele-cardiology at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. He also inaugurated the Ropeway at Girnar on the occasion.
4. Article 370 won’t be restored : BJP accused PDP president Mehbooba Mufti of “disrespecting” the Indian flag and asserted that the revocation of Article 370 was done constitutionally and that it will not be restored. Her comments that she will not hold the tricolour till the Kashmiri flag is restored is “downright denunciation” of the national flag’s sanctity, senior BJP leader and Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Seven mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday gave a formal shape to their recently cobbled alliance for the restoration of Article 370, electing National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah as its chairman and Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti as vice-chairperson, and asserted that theirs was “not an anti-national” grouping.

A traffic police constable was allegedly beaten up by a woman, after he intercepted the two-wheeler she was travelling on without wearing a helmet in Kalbadevi area of south Mumbai , A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, garnered a sharp reaction from Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who tweeted saying immediate action must be taken against the woman, as it was the matter of Mumbai police’s honour. The incident took place on Friday afternoon at Cotton Exchange Naka in Kalbadevi, where traffic police constable Eknath Parthe intercepted the two-wheeler on which the accused woman was riding pillion without a helmet.
8. TS EAMCET 2020 Toppers in Agriculture and medical stream: TS EAMCET 2020 results of agriculture and medical stream have been declared by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). Out of the total 63,857 students, 59,113 students have qualified in the entrance examination.

Karnataka CM asks BBMP officials to be on alert as heavy rains predicted : The direction comes a day after several parts of city, especially south Bengaluru region had faced the brunt of heavy rains as stormwater drains overflowed. CM Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP-city civic body) commissioner Manjunath Prasad and directed him to visit the areas that saw flooding. He also asked the commissioner to maintain alertness with the Met department predicting heavy rains.

1. Government imposes stock limit to check rise in onion prices with effect from 24 Oct 2020 which is 25 Metric Tonnes for Wholesalers and 2 Metric Tonnes for Retailers for a period up to 31st December 2020.

India moves to ban imported goods at military canteens : India has ordered its 4,000 military shops to stop buying imported goods, The order did not specify which products would be targeted. Kadapa or Cuddapah is a city in the Rayalseema region of the south-central part of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is the district headquarters of YSR Kadapa district. The city’s name originated from the Telugu word “Gadapa” meaning threshold or gate. It acquired this name with its relation to the Tirumala Tirupati Hills; one had to pass through this city in the olden days to reach Tirumala Tirupati Hills Balaji Temple.
