  2. President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence on Friday.
  3. Rajasthan plans assembly session to discuss farm laws: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday hinted at holding a session of the assembly soon to discuss the new farm laws.
  4. A 26-year-old scientist working at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre has gone missing for the past four days from Yelwal in Mysuru. According to his family sources, Abhishek Reddy Gulla went out on October 6 afternoon on his two-wheeler and did not return to his room since then.
  5. Rally to protest Bengal cops ‘pulling off’ Sikh man’s turban : Around 50 members of Sikh community have taken out a protest rally in Kolkata condemning the alleged assault of a Sikh man and pulling off his turban by police during a BJP march to the statesecretariat at Howrah in West Bengal.

10.The Centre on Saturday decided to offer ‘urad’ and ‘tur’ from its buffer stock to states at a further subsidised rate for retail sale in order to check rising prices of pluses.

The family of a temple priest in Rajasthan who was allegedly burnt alive by land encroachers have refused to perform the last rites till the state government meets their demands which include action against the SHO apart from compensation and government job for a family member. The priest, Babu Lal Vaishnav, was burnt alive in Karauli districts Bukna village by five men who allegedly wanted to encroach on the temple land.
  2. The Centre has issued a fresh advisory to states on safety of women and how to deal with crime against them and said any failure of police to adhere to laid down rules does not augur well for the delivery of justice.

  4. The Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre on Saturday showcased its latest batch of 301 passing out young soldiers from the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
  5. Four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) outfits, including a top commander, were on Saturday killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Kulgam and Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir,

No hint of China setting up missile sites in PoK : Amid reports that China is helping Pakistan set up sites for surface-to-air missiles in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a top Army commander in Srinagar on Saturday said there is no indication of any tactical help being extended by Beijing to Islamabad.
  3. Taiwan posters put near Chinese embassy removed : Posters wishing Taiwan on its national day on Saturday came up near the Chinese embassy in New Delhi, but were removed by the New Delhi Municipal Council within hours.
  4. India has donated 1.8 million N95 masks to Philadelphia, the largest city in the US state of Pennsylvania, to help in its fight against COVID-19. The move comes after the Mayor of Philadelphia, Jim Kenney, made a request to India for supply of masks to be used by the city’s frontline workers.
  5. Any peace deal with the Taliban “will not and should not be detrimental” to the national security of any country including India, and it is for New Delhi to decide whether to engage with the militant outfit, top Afghan peace negotiator Abdullah Abdullah said on Saturday.
