Pitru Paksha 2020 started on September 1 and will end on September 17.  Pitru Paksha, is a lunar cycle that takes place for 16 days and within this period, Hindus pay homage to their pitrus or ancestors who have passed on.  The Covid pandemic is driving innovation and experimentation like never before. Mumbai based, startup My OmNamo catering to online pandit booking, puja booking and more has now facilitated e-shradh, and virtual Brahman Bhoj besides offering traditional puja services.

“My OmNamo has been at the forefront for assisting people by conducting auspicious pujas, havan in the times of pandemic. Over 966 virtual pujas were booked through the app this Ganesh Festival. This included Ganesha Sthapna Puja, Gauri Pujan and Uttar Puja. 312 Offline pujas were also booked through the app. Around 250 total pandits were active during Ganeshotsav season”, shared Makarand Patil, Founder My OmNamo spiritual app.

The festive season started with the Ganesh festival ended thus week which saw a high demand for pandits to perform puja across the country. But it was not possible with social distancing rules and impending threat of corona virus looming.  My OmNamo enabled the pandits also had work opportunities and devotees could do ganesh stapana in their homes without any glitches.

During the aupicious time of Pitrupaksha, the app has more to offer it’s patrons. “My OmNamo has a tie-up with 33 vedic pathshalas. We are conducting Brahman Bhoj online as well for masses with Vedic Pathshala Brahmins from Alandi, Trimbakeshwar and Nashik this Pitrupaksha. People can opt for 11, 21 or 51 Brahmins as a ritual and avail the services online. We shall conduct the brahman bhoj for the family”.
