*THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
If you truly love nature, you will find beauty within and everywhere!
JOKES OF THE DAY:
1) Teacher* : Porus kaun tha?
*Pappu* : pata nahi sir.
*Teacher* : padaai ke taraf dyaan do, pataa chalegaa
*Pappu* : Aap battayiye. Rohan kaun hai?
*Teacher* : pata nahi.
*Pappu* : apni beti ki taraf dyaan dijiye, pata chalega.
2) Three boys are in the schoolyard bragging about their fathers.
The first boy says, “My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, and they give him $50.”
The second boy says, “That’s nothing. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, and they give him $100.”
The third boy says, “Ducks! I got you both beat”. My dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!”
(Same Joke in English: -
Brad and Mike are two old retired widowers who reside close to each other and do constant welfare checks on each other. Much of their relationship is based on pragmatism rather than real friendship or personal affection.
One day, as he drinks his morning coffee, Mike opens the morning paper and turns to the obituaries page. He gets the shock of his life when he sees his own obituary in the column. He realizes that the query for info on him by the local newspaper several months earlier, was in preparation for this event. He correctly surmises that it is a mistaken entry from their database. It still excites and rankles him, so he calls Brad up. “Brad, are you up yet?” asks Mike. Brad sleepily answers, “Yeah, but I’m only now starting my coffee.” “Brad, open the newspaper to page 31.” “Why, what’s in the paper?” “Brad, get the paper and open it to page 31 NOW!” “Ok, Ok, I’ve got the paper here, so what’s in page 31?” “Brad, open the paper to page 31 already!” “All right, don’t be such a pain so early in the morning already. So, what’s on page 31 that’s so important?” “Brad, look at the bottom of column 4.” “Why? What’s that story on?” “Brad, read the story on the bottom of the column already!” “OK, OK, I’ll start reading the column if you stop yelling in my ear!” The paper rustles for a few seconds, then a long silent pause ensues… Finally, Brad comes on the line quietly and fearfully asks, “So Mike, where are you calling me from right now?” |
4) Once Sashi Tharoor made a
project
In his project he urged people t
sign a petition demanding strict
control or total elimination of
the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide."
And for plenty of good reasons,
since it can:
1. cause excessive sweating
and vomiting.
2. it is a major component
in acid rain.
3. it can cause severe
burns in its gaseous state.
4. accidental inhalation c
kill you.
5. it contributes to erosion.
6. it decreases effectiveness
of automobile brakes,
7. it has been found in t
of terminal cancer patients.
He asked 150 people if they
supported a ban of the chemical.
One hundred forty-three said yes.
Six were undecided. Only one (he
himself) knew that the chemical
was... Water!
The title of his prize winning
project was,"How Gullible Are We?"
He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to the alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment.

*Why did bats evolve to hang upside down?*
Unlike birds, bats cannot launch their bodies into the air from the ground, because their wings don’t produce enough lift to take off like a helicopter. … Hanging upside-down is a great way for bats to hide from predators and danger, too.

*HOW IT WORKS* ⁉
*How does a ball point pen work?*
The ball point pen has a little metal ball rotating freely in a socket at the end of a cartridge filled with ink. The first such pen was invented in 1888 , and a US patent was taken out, but the pen was not marketed. It would be 50 years before a workable ball point pen would be commercially available. The most reliable bp of its day was introduced by Parker in 1954. It used a textured tungsten-carbide ball, and tended to grip the paper better. With earlier designs, unless the paper was quite rough, the smooth ball would tend to slip and not deliver ink. One advantage a bp had over fountain pens was that you could bear down and make several carbon copies at one time. Parker came up with a workaround in 1939, though, with the model 51. This fountain pen featured a very stiff nib of a completely revolutionary design.
A sticky ink goes down a tube obstructed at the bottom end by a tiny little ball. There is a narrow clearance between the tube and the ball so that when the ball is rolled across a piece of paper it entrains a thin film of sticky ink from the other side and deposits it onto the paper. Because the ink is sticky, it feels like the ink is instantaneously dry. Another advantage is consistent deposition (function of the clearance between tube and ball) regardless of how much pressure is applied by the writing hand. Under normal circumstances also, it does not leak in your pocket.

*Actual name of Pariksha was Vishnurata, but how he got that name..?*
Parikshit was born to Uttara and Abhimanyu. He was the grandson of Arjuna and he was saved by Lord Krishna in the womb of his mother, when Ashwaththama directed Brahmastra on him.
Since the baby had been protected by Vishnu in his form of Krishna, the brahmanas proposed that he should be named Vishnurata, that is, protected by Vishnu. But the baby had met Krishna inside Uttara’s womb and had become devoted to Krishna. Whenever the child met someone, he tested to see if the person he had just met was indeed the person whom he had met inside the womb. The word for a test is pariksha. Thus it was that Vishnurata came to be popularly known as Parikshit.

*What is the reason for foul smell from mouth?*
The most common cause of halitosis is bad oral hygiene. If particles of food are left in the mouth, their breakdown by bacteria produces sulfur compounds. Keeping the mouth hydrated can reduce mouth odor. The best treatment for bad breath is regular brushing, flossing, and hydration.
Bad breath can be a warning sign that other diseases or illnesses are present. Postnasal drip, respiratory and tonsil infections, sinus problems, diabetes, liver and kidney issues, as well as certain blood disorders can all cause bad breath.
*Ways to stop bad breath*
Brush teeth twice a day. Brush your teeth two to three minutes at least twice a day to remove plaque and food debris. …
Floss daily. …
Brush or scrape your tongue. …
Use a mouth rinse.
